Yes it could go out just like that. Take your door panel off and find the connector to the motor and check it with a test light to see if your getting power to it when you push the switch. Sometimes you can lightly tap on them and they will start working again but that doesnt fix it for long though.. Still needs to be replaced.

Same problem:
1st of all, I verified that the drivers control lever was in the on position, with the red edge showing. This means that the passenger can roll down/up the window. Sort of a child safety lever.

I have 2 Integras.
On my 2000 LS, I can put +12v and GND directly to the passenger motor and it works. I can flip the polarity and the motor works in the opposite direction.

I can connect the passenger side switch, then (from the back of the switch) put +12v and gnd to wires #2/Blu-red and #4/Blu-wht and the motor works. Then I can reverse the polarity and and the motor works in the opposite direction.

I follow those wires (#2 and #4) back to the drivers control switch, then I put the +12v and the gnd and nothing happens. I reverse the polarity and nothing.

I use the OHM meter to check contitunity from the drivers switch#9/Blu-yel to the #2 wire of the passenger and I have a short. I check the #4 passenger wire back to the drivers switch #8/Blu-grn and I have a short.

I use the OHM meter from the drivers #9 to the passenger motor's Blu-wht and I press the passenger switch in one direction and I get a short.
I use the OHM meter from the driver's #8 to the passenger motor's Blu-red and I press the passenger switch in the opposite direction and I get a short.

I can not get the +12v and gnd to pass through to the the passenger motor, from the drivers side.

On my 2nd Integra R, that does not have any problems. I swaped the questionable switches (drivers and passengers from the LS) into the R and both worked fine.

I put the Switches from the R into the LS and I have the same problem, the passenger window won't work.

I left the switches in the wrong cars, because the LS switches do work in the R.

Hey 210southcar....what precautions did you take to prevent the arm peice from snapping downward, when you removed it?

I am going to replace my motor and I am concerned that the resistance spring might cause the arm to suddenly scissor shut, on my fingers.

I have the auto/remote windows, also. I saw the redish/brown lock relay box, but did not trouble shoot it. I'll check it out this weekend.

Thanks for the direction.

safedriver,
i ran into your passenger side window issues, what did you end up doing? when i applied 12 v directly from the battery to the motor, the window goes up and down fine. so it must not be the motor. i am wondering if it could be relay or broken wire. how can i check or bypass the relay
would appreciate any help, thanks,

First of all, thank you H-T member HCKRU for your suggestion.
After all was said and done (trial and error style)...
I had 2 problems...

My remote control window module (from Circuit City) and the OEM passenger window switch were bad.

Here are the trouble shooting pages for my 2000 LS

I got a DA and my passenger window randomly works. Like last night it rolled down but then wouldn't roll up but eventually it rolled up after trying multiple times in like a 20 minute period. I'm thinking maybe cause its cold outside? This morning around 1130 it wouldn't roll down but now at 517 it will. What was weird is that I rolled the driver side down then the passenger didn't roll down. I rolled the driver side back up and turned the key off then back on and then rolled the passenger side first and it worked. Also the last time it didn't roll back up i stuck my foot under the drivers dash "while i was holding the switch" into the wires and moved my foot around and it started rolling up. I don't know what the hell is going on. Is there wires to that window under the dash? And only the main switch works the passenger side switch don't work.

i had the same prob.i took the door panel off and my driver side motor was not even bolted up to the door lol. and my passenger window didnt even roll down or up. found out it was the wiring that goes from the doors into the firewall. the plug was coming undone so i plugged them until it clicked now my windows are fine! i suggestion is to check that wiring maybe its that try and wiggle them as your trying to them up!

Thank you guys for this thread, I almost had to drive the TL-S thru the snow! lol

The passenger window got stuck in the down position, neither switch would do anything, but i used jumper cables and picks in the plug and it went right up. I guess its the relay under the dash then?

A user at a different forum claimed that old Hondas are prone to having corrosive (oxidation) molex connectors, and that using an electrical contact cleaner on them solves the problem.

Another rational solution IMO, is to route new wires directly to the power window motor from an aftermarket universal switch, since new OEM switches are not available.

Edit: Cleaning the connectors did nothing. I went ahead and installed 4 new 20 gauge wires through the door, and place the ground connections, to two separate metallic parts of the door using ring terminals. I've included an image of the mock up/schematic. Fuse #28 for the passenger window motor was used on the under dash fuse box, and went ahead and installed/left it's respective fuse on the fuse tap (i.e. two 20 amps fuse total on fuse tap). Be sure to use a multimeter to check all wires for continuity. Someone sold me a dud on eBay with a defective ground connection. I'll try to report back in the next 6 months, so see if that solves the problem.
