Parking Brake Light...?
recently especially when it's cold out the parking brake light either won't go off when I release the parking brake or it randomly comes on. Usually when the car warms up the light goes off. But sometimes it dosent
the only thing I've done to my car since I got it was put in a headunit and the mugen thermostat, fanswitch and pressure cap
does the parking brake light on the instrument panel lit up by itself mean anything else besides the parking brake is on?
the reason why I ask is on my last car when the brake light and battery light were on at the same time it meant the alternator was shot
thanks for the help
Nick

Re: Parking Brake Light...? (BlackThorN)
I also had that problem and my wire behind the gauge closter was not real lose so I would check that out first to be honest. The weird thing about it was it only happend when it was cold. Sounds like the same problem I had so I would check that out.

If the fluid level is OK, it might be a flaky float switch.
Unplug the wires at the brake fluid reservoir for a couple days. If the warning light never comes on, then you know that was it.

and your replies directly related to the recent install of a thermostat, fan switch and radiator pressure cap?
I think not
oh wait...do they have to do with the brake light possibly being an engine code and not just the brake fluid?
no...hmmm

Re: (BlackThorN)
I'll attempt to help you out, even if you told me to "be gone".
EXACT same thing happened to me.
HOW TO FIX IT:
Open the hood and unscrew both brake fluid reservoirs. CAREFULLY clean the caps and around the top of the lids. Next, turn each cap/white plunger upside down and make sure its well lubricated with brake fluid. Carefully "dunk" each plunger in the brake fluid reservoirs before screwing them back into place.
FIXED.
