Painting Gauge Needles

Painting Gauge Needles
I know that there are many threads on this, but i didn't want to bring up and old thread from 5 years ago, so I had a quick question.
I took off the needles on my integra and stripped the red on the bottom, and painted them yellow. I also have amber bullbs as well. It looks good during the day, but at night the needles light up amber instead of yellow. I know that the itr gauges have the amber on the back of the faces and the white bulbs, but if i were to paint the whole needle sides and top as well, instead of just the bottom, would they be yellow at night or would it just worsen the needle visibility? Thanks

Re: Painting Gauge Needles
That's exactly how I painted my needles and I have amber bulbs also. I thought about it for some time and just left them to light up amber at night. Unless you copied the itr backing the needles will light up whatever color the bulbs are, painted the entire needle might make it look cheesy.
