Default Painted ValveCover, Can i sand down DOHC VTEC and honda??

So i got tired of my jdm type-r red, valvecover, and wanted something different, it was hard to choose between white / yellow, but i went ahead and did "Jun" yellow..
I stripped off the old valvecover using Airplane stripper, followed by a nice wash, dryed it then i went ahead and used VHT Wrinkle paint, roughly 5 coats..it was nice and think, i let that dry for about 3 hours, then i applied about 8 Coats of VHT Gloss yellow, Its super sweet looking, my question is, its sitting in the sun now, its roughly 92 degs here in louisiana, how should i go about getting the DOHC Vtec and honda and H Symbol to shine, should i just sand it down with wet/dry sand paper..and also, do i need to bake it or just let it completely dry, i dont want it to peel away the paint..

As long as you did a good job prepping the cover before you applied paint, you should have no problems. (IE: getting ALL the oils and grease from ur hands wipped off, all dirt wipped off)

Did you paint over the DOHC VTEC and HONDA symbols with out tapeing or putting vaseline over it?

Well, i ended up painting over them, but i took a razor and just ran it over then and it had no problem, just slicing the paint off, i then took a piece of sand paper and sanded it down, came out awesome, i'm at work right now and just got done doing it..i put it back in the sun but i'll try and get some pics up in a second or too...its not completely dry, and i ended up taping over the letters really quick, and just spraying the parts that got dirty again..but overall its alot of coats on it..seems really nice looking..the wrinlkes are alittle odd but oh well..

razor blade to clean the lettering off, then use like 2000 grit wet sad paper. also tape off around were your going to sand so you dont scuff up the paint.

Pics i just took, I'm letting it "bake" in the company Truck..its roughly 132Degs in the truck now...
It may look alittle bad, but disreguard that tape over all the letters, its just a final quick coat i put on after getting all the letters shiny again..i'll have a pic in a few with the tape removed..

Finished, i'll pics tomorrow of it on the car..

Just a Tad disappointed in the wrinlkes, they showed up heavy in some places and light in others..and i evenly painted it, over all i give it a 8 out of 10..i think it came out very well, for being my first valve cover job

interesting...looks like you had the same problem as I did when it came to the wrinkle paint. its hard to spray it evenly....the area's with more paint have more of a "wrinkled" look and effect.

Overall, looks pretty good.
