Overheating problems
I have a 94 LS that overheats whenever I come to a stop . My temp gauge usually goes passed half way mark but never to H . When I'm at a stop and raise my rpms it would go back to normal . My coolant reservoir empties out in about 2weeks . But I don't see any leaks of coolant at all . What could be causing my temp to rise ? Where is my coolant going ? What do you guys think ?

Re: Overheating problems
Does rad fan turn on?
Overheating when you come to a stop is a symptom of a non working rad fan.
If the engine overheats at speed when you drop RPM to an idle, [press clutch and coast], the problem is the water pump.
If temp. drops when engine is revved when stopped, it is a symptom of a bad water pump.
You may be losing coolant at the pump, you would not see it.
If the pump is the original one, it is past due for a new one, along with timing belt and possibly timing belt tensioner. 94
