Default Ok to change from 10w-30 mobil 1 synthetic to high mileage oil?

I bought the gsr from a lady that used regular 5w-30 oil and i recently switched to 10w-30 mobil 1 synthetic oil for the first time. Will it be ok for me to switch to high mileage oil now or will it harm the car? I heard I wasnt supposed to switch now since the motor is used to synthetic oil. i have a 97 gsr.

NO you can switch whenever you want. When you switched from regular to synthetic, the resisdue left behind from conventional will all be cleaned up due to the detergents in the oil. A bad thing about that is that if enough buildup was on the gaskets, preventing oil from leaking, it will now because synthetic has removed those deposits causing it to leak. This is a sign saying that synthetic is actually working. I know this because i work at a quick lube and a mobil rep that pretty much came up with the formula came and talked to us for selling their 5000, 7500, oils. He also said that the high mileage stuff has a swell aditive in it which works amazing, if those seals are leaking, this swell aditive will swell the seal reducing leaks. It is fine to switch from synthetic to any oil, and switch back again.

Also one other thing to mention is the way they tested the stuff. The guy that talked to all the quick lube staff, went to the biggest taxi companys in the us. Vegas and NY. He took care of the oil changes in a couple of the vehicles. He used mobil 1 and changed it every 8,000 miles instead of changing it every 3,000 miles. After about 24000 miles, the owner of the taxis said "i dont know what youve been putting in those cabs, but i am sold." The mobil rep asked why. Owner said "I notice those taxis fill up much less often than the other taxis." He was sold before the rep from mobil showed the pictures form under the valve cover and engine. Just to be safe tho, the taxi companies are changing the oil every 4000 miles. I have seen all the pictures from their test, and the change is remarkable. I am sold for life even if it may cause leaks. I will continue to run mobil 1 for each vehicle i own and will eventually own.

Mobile 1 is one hell of a remarkable product.

Yah, take off valve cover before you run the mobil one in it. Then put in mobile one and i think dealer reccommends changing oil every 7500 so change it that often. Then after the third oil change, pull off valve cover again and take pics.

Oh and BTW, the first time you run mobil one in a motor, it will be very dirty due to the fact that it will be cleaning all that crap off the motor walls. So maybee 3-4k on first, then 7500 on next two. Or just do it every 3000 like what most people do, and should do.
