Oil light issue after rebuild
Hey guys,
So I have just finished a halfway rebuild (timing belt water pump tensioner, oil pump, head gasket, valve cover gasket, piston rings, main and connecting rod bearings, head resurface and cleaning, intake and exhaust mani gaskets, oil pick up gasket, pretty much all of the gaskets, block was honed, pistons cleaned) on my 01 integra gsr. It runs and sounds good but the oil light is alternating between flashing and becoming solid. At one point while driving it also went off for about 2 minutes. Naturally the first thing I replaced was the oil pressure sending switch (hopeful). No change.
I'm not sure if this is an electrical issue or what as i have replaced most things that could cause the issue to my understanding. I intend to go get an oil pressure gauge to wire up this weekend but just wondering if there are any other suggestions on what this could be?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys!

Re: Oil light issue after rebuild
No I didn't. This was my first engine "rebuild" so I kinda learned as i went along. I ordered bearings through Rock Auto thinking I was doing it right. Turned out the bearings i got were ACL (universal as i understand it). So I'm assuming you're referring to the main bearings being too loose therefore causing low oil pressure?
Is there anything else that could cause this problem? I would hate to replace the bearings again and it have been a simpler problem.

You should also consider a missing cylinder head oil restrictor and/or missing cylinder head oil gallery plug under the rear-most intake cam cap.
