Default oil leak problem

okk so I have a 95 ls and its leaking oil into the #4 spark plug and just that one, I have changed the vc gasket as well as the spark plug gaskets twice now and still have the problem. I did notice that there is a good amount of oil sitting on top of the vc all around my oil cap. Could the oil cap be leaking and possibly somehow leaking into the spark plug hole?? I honestly didnt think it was possible but I need to figure out what the problem is because of my weekend trips to columbus and back (I live in the youngstown ohio area) so its a good haul and the oil leaking is just a huge problem i need to figure out. thanks

Valve seals I hope for your sake. If not, its possible you might have a cracked ring. Easy way to tell is if car blows smoke out tailpipe on throttle combined with oil wetness on top of one piston(noticably) more than other 3. Also will have oil buildup on that cylinder's spark plug.

I assume you mean the top of the spark plug, in the spark plug well and not at the bottom of the plug, [combustion chamber].

If so, and you have replaced the VC gasket and spark plug well seals, then it is possible the oil is coming from the cap, replace the cap gaske, #10...

Yes the oil is sitting where the spark plug is, idk where the oil is coming from because I have changed the spark plug gaskets twice now and still have the problem. and yes it blows white smoke out the exhaust, idk if the oil is dripping past the spark plug onto the piston and causing it or what. I know there is always oil sitting on top of the vc right by the oil cap, idk if somehow it is leaking into my spark plug hole or not. and the motor has not been rebuilt and the motor has almost 300,000 miles on it so im sure the rings are shot, Im planning to do an lsv sometime during the summer I just wanna figure out where this oil leak is coming from.

Check your actual valve cover. check where the seal sits, see if its cracked around that area because i had that problem. i'll post a pic of it.

Ive checked where the gaskets sit multiple times and they're fine. all i know so far that oil is sitting at the bottom of my spark plug hole. i have no clue if it is possible but i do have a bad oil cap and it leaks onto the vc right by the #4 spark plug, is it possible that it is getting into the spark plug hole and dripping onto the piston? i mean how else would oil be sitting in the hole when all the gaskets are good... I just need to figure it out and fix it for now till i do my lsv. And Fcm I just ordered a new oil cap. hopefully that fixes the problem. thanks for all the input, much appreciated

A bad seal on the outer VC gasket can cause loose seating of the spark plug gaskets.

Perhaps the spark plug tube is cracked?

OIC... Those are broken pieces, out of the spark plug tube bottom, not some kind of "notch's" had to blow the pix up to see it was broken.

teggyteg33 does yours look like that?

If so, that is your problem. 94

alright i havent been on in a while but i did do a compression test the other day...
1- 1st compression stroke 110, 7 compression strokes 180
2- 1st compression stroke 100, 7 compression strokes 170
3- 1st compression stroke 100, 7 compression strokes 165
4- 1st compression stroke 95, 7 compression strokes 170

all i know is that it is using oil like crazy, i mean i have to put a quart in everytime i drive, its blowing white smoke when I really get on.. im starting to think its the valve seals but not sure 100 percent, anyone have a second opinion? oil is always sitting in the #4 spark plug well

I had a similar problem, although it was not leaking as much. My issue was that although I was replacing the gasket the build up on the VC was not allowing the gasket to properly seat itself. So just make sure to clean the actual surface of the valve cover, the build up on mine was thick enough I had to gently scrap it off with a screw driver. Hope you can solve the problem, good luck.

The white smoke and the oil burning could be a bad head gasket. Are you sure it isnt blue smoke? That could also make it burn oil

So basically I'm a little thrown off right now... My new oil cap came in, put it on and drove about 100 miles, didn't burn oil, didn't act weird, didn't blow smoke out the exhaust and there is no longer oil laying in the spark plug well...
