Official "RATTLE" Thread
I figured with all the different reasons for 'rattling' sounds that occur every once in a while in our integras that I'd start a thread where peeps can post about their experiences AND SOLUTIONS for their rattling noises. Here are a few guildlines to posting in this thread:
*This is a reference thread. Please don't post any comments...only your rattle experiences and what you did to fix it
*Don't ask 'Why is my car rattling' here...simply look, learn, then leave. I want to try to keep this thread as clean as possible for reference purposes.
*Don't post your rattling situation if you haven't found a solution to it
*Post in an organized format (Cause, Symptoms, Solution, and description of rattling). You can see an example in the following post.
***If you have a QUESTION about a rattle, please create ANOTHER THREAD. This thread is for reference, not for asking questions***
That's about it. I'll start...

Re: Official "RATTLE" Thread (jdmintegra1994)
Cause: Part of exhaust piping that welded to resonator was cracked (greddy sp)
Symptoms: Rattling between 1.5k-2k rpm. Rattling under center console. Exhaust MUCH louder.
Solution: Re-welded cracked spot
Description:
I have a greddy sp exhaust and I noticed that my car made an ANNOYING rattling sound between 1.5k and 2k rpms right underneath my center console. After 6 months of trying to figure out what it was, i took it to a muffler shop so they could lift the car and apply the gas at the same time. They found out that the part of the exhaust piping that welded onto the resonator was cracked. That caused the rattling noise, made my exhaust alot louder, and made me lose some power. All I did was pay them 10 bucks and they re-welded it for me. Best mod i've made...

Cause: Internal crack on Stock A pipe (bottom half of header)
Symptoms: Rattling between 1.5k-3K
Solution: Bought a use Header off Ebay
Description:
i bought my car at 146k and it had a nasty rattle at about 1.5K-3.0k. i removed all the heat sheilds and got a new cat, but still it made that damed rattle. when i was driving people would hear it and stare. i looked around on these boards and i figured out it was the A pipe on the header. i then found a used header OEM header on ebay for 21$ + shipping. installed that and rattle wint away.

Re: Official "RATTLE" Thread (jdmintegra1994)
Actually, I've got 2 entries...
Cause: B-pipe rusting through.
Symptoms: At first, it sounded like the exhaust hitting the floorpan. Within a couple weeks, the hole got big enough there was no doubt that it was an exhaust leak.
Solution: Replaced the B-pipe.
-------------------------
Cause: A-pipe rattle. Inner pipe buzzing against outer.
Symptoms: Sounds a lot like a rattling heat-shield.
Solution: Bought DC header.
Description: I DID actually have a loose heatshield, but after I fixed it, the exhaust still rattled. The inner tube of the A-pipe wasn't LOOSE, but it was warped just enough to buzz against the outer tube. That pipe is really expensive, so it was slightly cheaper for me to buy a DC header which includes the A-pipe.

Re: Official "RATTLE" Thread (djmatix)
cause- the baffle in my resignator came loose/broke
Symptoms- Rattling upon accelorating and decelorating only when the car was warm.
solution- Took it to a muffler shop, had them cut out the old resig. and weld a new one in place.
Description: The more i drove my car the worse it got, wasnt too sure if it was my Cat or my resig. but when i took it to the muffler shop they listend to it and came to the conclusion it was my resig. and of course this happened AFTER I stripped all my heatshileds around and above my cat.

Cause: Rusting of welds of resognator and cat heat shields
Symptoms: Crazy *** rattling noises mostly at half RPM increments
Solution: taking them off or waiting for them to fall off or playing music really loud so you can't hear them rattle
This happened to me twice and the evil noise from hell is back. The first time I noticed it and sat on it for a while because it wasnt that bad. Then one day driving down the expressway the shield decided to come off half way. It dragged on the ground for about a mile or so then flew out he back and was hit by about 2 MAC trucks, kinda funny actually. The second time it started ratalling and almost in the exact same spot on the road it fell half way off. I stopped and ripped this one off however. And once again another heat sheild is loose. his time its my cat shield. If anyone has a problem with this one and is going to take it off just be careful of the 02 censors.

Re: Official "RATTLE" Thread (jdmintegra1994)
Symptom: annoying rattle of wires inside the hatch
Solution: tape the wires down using electrical tape
I had my hatch fixed by a body shop and after I got my car back, the wires inside the hatch would rattle over every bump i drive on.

Symptom:
Annoying rattle during the 2K-3K rpm range when the engine is cold, coming from the catylytic converter area, after installing a Greddy Evo. (note: no broken bolts or cracks in the piping)
Solution:
I jacked the car up and used a set of pliers to bend the hole on the heat shield that surrounds the O2 Sensor (that's what I suspected was rattling). I didn't have to remove any heat shields like some people advise to do...now, there's no rattle whatsoever.
