Default Oem vs Denso O2 sensor same thing?

My understanding is the OEM is made by Denso. I found the OEM to be overpriced but had bad experiences with after market parts. I found a Denso after market o2 sensor pn:234-4011. So I'm wondering if the Denso is the exact same part as the OEM sold at Acura. Or is there an advantage towards the OEM. I'm hoping in this case that the old saying, "You get what you pay for is not true. "

thanks

if its what i think you mean: oem is plug and play, with most universal, you have to splice the wires onto the old connector. its about 5-10 minutes versus 50 bucks.

or if you see one marketed as denso with the plug, sounds like a deal.

the Denso I am looking at is located here:
http://www.sparkplugs.com/resu...0&y=0
This is a direct plug and play replacement. The cost is $92.xx as oppose to $188.XX on an acura website. The reason I am asking about the O2 sensor being a direct factory match is because I have recently had my car tuned down at Churches and during the tuning they found that the O2 sensor I had was an after market unit. This brought up the issue of whether or not to turn on the closed loop feature due to the after market unit possibly sending incorrect information. It seemed like but I'm uncertain that they preferred the factory unit. So this leads me to the question of whether or not to purchase the after market sensor or an OEM.

I have that same O2 sensor, it's a legit OEM replacement. Just not car dealer priced.

what year integra do you have?

if you have an OBD1 integra, you can buy those O2 Sensors cheaper on Ebay. Search Integra Denso Oxygen sensor. They sell the OEM Fit that comes with the plug for $49 or you can buy the universal for $24.

NTK is also an OEM brand. NTK is also NGK. Denso, NGK, NTK are all manufacturers of OEM parts.

But if you have a OBD2 Car, you'll need the more expensive version:

obd doesn't make a difference with the o2 sensors, unless your then theres the secondary o2 sensor that is different. But the primary doesn't matter, as long as it's the right model.

The 4011 part number from denso will work perfectly. I've used both this sensor and the Universal 4 wire sensor on my Integras and have worked without any issues. The 4011 looks just like the OEM sensor. You have nothing to worry about.

The Denso 4011 part will work on all Integras from 1992-2001...obd1, obd2a, and obd2b....

That's what I thought, but i have a 2000 integra gsr and i bought a denso universal one and it last about 3 weeks.. I was wondering if the obd2 02 sensors are made a little different. because now i just bought the bosch direct fit OEM for 1997 integra's, crv, preludes and i got a good deal on it but the NTK and DENSO's are $90.
BUT I could be wrong, but im just going from the experince i had with it lasting less than 3 weeks/

Well i've had no problem with it for 36k miles, no cel light, nothing. I dont think the OBD2 system is any more sensitive in regards to the o2 sensor. Did you happen to spray it with anything, drop it, hit something ?

And are you speaking of the Denso Universal 4 wire which you butt-connect to the original factory plug or the one pre-wired with a factory plug?

What Denso Universal Part number are you referring to which you had bad experiences with?

I've used both without a problem. There are a few things that i'm not sure you needed to know when using the 4 wire universal Denso o2 sensors.

-You must have a real nice and tight crimp on the ends of the wires.
-The length of the new o2 sensor with the OEM connector must be as close to exactly the same as the original o2 sensor with connector was.
-Wrapping the wires up and split looming them will add a layer of protection while connected in the engine bay
-You cant expose these sensors to any chemicals, drop them, or bang them around, because they're fragile sensors and will foul out as a result of these actions.

I just bought one of these today. I wanted a Denso, wound up with Bosch #13539. Generally i would really lean on Denso for any Honda's 02. I only have the Bosch because it was either that or a no name. Easy choice, still would prefer Denso.

Thanks for all the responses. I couldn't believe to see the NTK brand so cheap. This is a odd question but has does these companies decide on a price. How does the NTK brand stack up to the denso?

Ya I bought a Bosch too.. it was $50 for an OEM O2 Sensor. Bosch is a great company, so I'm not too worried about their products.

BOSCH, NTK, DENSO are all great companies and all their products are great. I say, buy which ever one you can afford or give you the better deal. I would normally buy NTK or Denso, but the Bosch was almost $40 cheaper.. Easy decision.
