Odd fueling issue - 94 Integra
I've got an odd fueling issue, hoping H-T can help.
Before going turbo, I had a fueling issue where the top seals of the injectors were leaking. Because of this, if I went above 1/2 tank when getting gas, I'd leak. The more I went over, the worse the leak. I filled it once, and it was POURING out; you could see it while driving. As I got near 1/2 tank, it slowed and then stopped.
I went turbo, put in ID1000's, and voila- no more leaking. However, the issue returned. In opposite form.
Now, when I go under 1/2 tank, it kicks/screams/wants to die and AFR'S increase to unsafe levels. Get some fuel into it, and voila- she's happy as a pig in bona fide scraps. Get around 3/8's tank and she's wheezing/coughing again. Fuel it up, get 5 - 6 gallons in and that's it, she's full. So it's NOT a gauge issue. Just pulled the Walbro 255 out of the tank - sock is attached. Just checked it against a bucket of water - flows like a sumbitch from just the sock. So it's not pulling air from under the Walbro, like it's cracked or anything. Also no physical damage anywhere on it.
When I went turbo, I already had the Walbro in it. Got it app. 6 months before. It was running fine under 1/2 tank - I was a pro at ALMOST going empty to get the most mileage between fill-ups.
Sock that went back on it was from the Walbro set-up. The pump did come with the car when I bought it, and it was allegedly used, though worked just fine.
Engine is out of the car right now, so can't just test something and check it out. Plus, I'd rather test stuff rather than just throw parts at it.
I have searched, and see the most common fix is to replace the sock. But since it ran perfect for 6+ months at under half tank, and ONLY half tank, I find it quite hard to believe that she is too high or something. You'd think it'd happened when I was at 1/8 tank or something. Possibly something else giving it issues, due to it never liking 1/2 tanks?
When I went turbo, I replaced FPR and injectors and seals. Replaced fuel filter over the summer. Did NOT replace any lines. Canister is bypassed IIRC. At least, it wasn't hooked up properly when I removed the engine. I am running new pressure lines now, so any issues in there will be gone. Also have a new 40 micron filter going in.
I am planning to run e85 and 93 this summer, so I need to be able to run this tank nearly dry. I can't let it go on any longer. Help me, please!

Re: Odd fueling issue - 94 Integra
I'll just start throwing parts at it I guess. I replaced FPR with Synchrotech (new) last year with turbo and injectors, now putting 40 micron fuel filter, -6AN feed line, and previous owner put a different fuel return on it already. If it doesn't fix it before tuning, I'll pick up another Walbro 255. Then the only original part will be the fuel rail.
I might just replace the fuel return anyways; cheap hose replacement insurance, after all. So to recap:
Once I fire it up in April, it'll have old Walbro 255 and sock, feeding new -6AN fuel line, to 40 micron stainless steel filter, to fitting that measures pressure, to original fuel rail, to ID1000 injectors, and then fuel-rated rubber hose return.
If it's stumbling and acting like it's out of gas under half tank (have to break in a new clutch prior to tuning, so I'll have more than enough time to figure that out) then I'll swap out the Walbro and put a new one in, with new sock. If that doesn't fix it, then new fuel rail. At that point, every stinking part will be new. If it's still not fixed, I'll pay someone to diagnose it.
