Got some new parts recently. I get my new DC 4-2-1 one piece stainless header on, and proceed to the cat. After torching the sh-t out of the nuts, I pull the old cat off. Soak the oxygen sensor in PB Blaster, and wrench it off. Screw the oxygen sensor into the OBX cat.

Compare the new cat with the stock piece. Not even close. The OBX cat has a miss-aligned flange. The triangle flange is on upside down (rotated 180 degrees). I get under the car, and it looks like I can make it work; but the oxygen sensor is pointing out at 5:00. It looks like it's gonna hang lower than the chassis.

Figure, "what the hell". I'm planning on getting a new cat back bent soon anyway. Get the cat bolted on (it was NOT easy, as the bolts didn't line up on the donut side), and goto plug in the oxygen sensor. SH-T. The plugs 6 inches shy of reaching.

I said f-ck it and took the damn thing off. I'll send it back and get a new one.

Anyway, the OBX cat's off eBay SUCK. The DC header off eBay rocks, though. Pulls VERY hard in the 3.5-5k range. Then I start missing like crazy. I know it's a plug wire. Just saving up for some good ones. Starting to ramble, kinda baked. Can't wait to put the camber kit on...

I thought any sh-tty company (including OBX) could weld two flanges and a bung onto a pipe, but I guess I stand corrected.

And to think I almost bought an OBX fuel rail...there's a fire waiting to happen.

i had an obx muffler on my teg for a while, and it wasnt the highest quality peice, but it sounded good and held up nicely, plus it looked good (it was a twinloop). About a year and it didnt blow out or get real loud.

I put an OBX high flow on before i got my Car Sound and i had no problems with it...i prolly ran it for about 10k miles.

i had the same problem with my ebay obx cat, but we just cut off the rear flange and re welded it, then it worked, looks like crap, but works.

Unfortuneately, I don't have a welder. It'll probably cost me more to send it back then to have somebody cut and weld it for me. Just pisses me off.

I got the DC header off eBay...and that kicked ***.

I called up the East Coast distributor to find out if I could exchange it under warranty (it has a limited lifetime warranty). He said "Nope, you gotta go through the dealer you bought it from." They don't deal directly with the public.

First off, the guy was a real a-hole. Very cocky and talked down to me. Then he said, "Our cats are supposed to be that way. You just need to run a shorter oxygen sensor. You'll also need to extend the wires on the plug." What a load of crap. I've never seen cat that points the o2 sensor straight down. What a rip. He also told me it's not a cat at all, just a resonator. That screams false advertising to me...

So I send an email to the dealer I bought it from. "Nope, you gotta get it serviced directly through the manufacturer."

Last time I buy anything cheap off eBay. Hopefully my AEM rotors will show up from Options and I won't have any problems. 50/50 chance my 16"s won't clear the caliper. Then I'll be SOL.
