Default OBD2 Cars - Without FITV or Fast Idle Thermo Valve - How does it happen in OBD2 cars

My understanding is OBD2 cars doesn't have FITV?

In OBD1 cars, Fast Idle Thermo Valve was supposed to raise your idle rpm's when the engine is cold, that's its purpose, and then when the engine warms up, the valve closes and has no impact on idle. The IACV - Idle Air Control Valve controls the idle speed at operating temp.

My question is, how is this acheived in OBD2 cars without FITV?

have you looked under your throttle body and fitv threads to visually look to see if you have one. . its not hard to see. . if you dont have one then no worries. . obd2 is all in the computer, just reads coolant temperature and automatically adjusts your rpm from my understanding

In OBD2 tegs the IACV does the job of the FITV... however, automatic integra's have a FITV... if you have a Helms, look it up. I had an idle problem with my car and that's what I learned too

I have a 94 Integra RS coupe with a swap.. type R block with gsr head.. looks like a skunk2 I/M and not sure what kind of throttle body but I'm guessing it's something obd2 because it doesn't have the FITV on it.

I'm assuming this is why my car doesn't idle by itself when it's cold.

Do I need to buy an OBD1 throttle body? or get an OBD2 ecu?
