Default OBD1 JDM B16a swap woes

Just recently swapped an obd1 jdm b16a into my 95 gsr. Poor car has led a rough life, gone through the stock b18c and then a obd1 b18b swap due to a nitrous mishap. The JDM motor is in excellent condition but I am having many problems right now. Here goes...

Upon starting it for the first time after completing the swap...it would not start. We checked all of the main grounds and found them to be bad for some reason or another. When using a test light and volt meter on the thermostat ground, it checks out, as well as the tranny ground and the ground off of the valve cover. Just seems as if they are not good enough! In order to get the car to start, a wire was run directly from the Negative battery terminal to the main ground on the bracket on the transmission; this worked. However, motor does not idle particularly well and will sputter or hesitate when trying to rev or "goose the throttle".
Additionally, although the car IS WIRED for vtec, there is no crossover. A p30 ecu is governing the motor and I believe that vtec engages at 6,000?

On top of the motor problems, there is a slew of electical issues within the cabin that were never a problem before. The most concerning is in regards to my headlights. When the switch is in the parking light position, both tail lights and both front parking lights come on just fine. However, when placed in the low-beam position, the driver side front parking lights turn off and the headlight bulb fails to turn on while the passenger side works perfectly. When looking at the gauge cluster you will notice that when the low-beams are on, the high-beam indicator turns on. This does not change even while flicking from low to high(nor do the headlamps)

The next problem i notice is with the windshield wipers. When turned on while the headlights are off, they work as they should. However if the headlights or parking lights are on, the wipers work abnormally and will only turn off if the headlights are turned off as well.

As you can tell, this is incredibly overwhelming and partially beyond my level of knowledge. If possibly, can anyone offer their thoughts/suggestions or comments to steer me in the right direction?

I appreciate all your help!!
