Default Number 2 Cylinder Misfire? what are the causes? and fuel pump problem

what would cause my engine to throw the number 2 cylinder misfire code?

spark plug wires?
spark plugs?
distributor?

anything else?

also, sometimes when I go to start my car, it wont start. it cranks over but doesnt fire. After a few tries and listening, I heard and found that the fuel pump was not priming thus not sending fuel = no start.

This doesnt happen all the time. It will happen then be ok for a few days, week, whatever.. but it is not constant. If it was the fuel pump, wouldn't it be a constant problem? wouldnt the fuel pump just give out?

what would cause the fuel pump not to work all the time?

main fuel relay?

thanks for everyones help. I would really appreciate everyones opinion.

Thanks.

WELL IF YOUR FUEL PUMP DOESNT START THAN IT WOULD BE EITHER THE FUSE THE RELAY OR MAYBE THE PUMP. BUT AS FAR AS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND THE MISFIRE ON 2ND CYLINDER IT COULD BE THE INJECTORS CUASE I KNO THAT HONDAS HAVE ALOT OF INJECTOR PROBLEMS WHEN THEY GET OLD. O AND IF YOUR MAIN RELAY IS BAD THE CAR WONT START WHEN ITS HOT SO IF THE CAR WONT START WHEN ITS HOT IT WILL PROB BE THE MAIN RELAY.

I just changed the fuel filter and it was pretty dirty (the fuel was that came out when disconnected). I ran one bottle of fuel injector cleaner..

Would running a few more bottles of injector cleaner (Lucas) help possible clean the injectors if it is clogged?

This problem happened all of a sudden. It was fine one day, then the next day all of a sudden the car was stuttering/misfiring while driving in low RPS (under 3000 rpm is when it misfires the most).

my friend had a misfire in cylinder one, and after looking i noticed his wire was grounding out, it could possibly be your wire, or maybe your spark plug is fouled

stick a crew driver in the cylinder 2 plug wire and set it on your radiator support then start your car and see if you are getting any spark to the plug
