Default need help starting b18cR

Long story short I swapped engines with a friend. I pulled my b18cR out of my 95 civic hatch and swapped in a Gsr from his coupé. The issue i am having is getting the b18cR to turn on in his obd1 gsr coupe. In my hatch I was running obd2 engine harness. I didn't swap engine harness so I had to use his gsr obd1 alternator on the b18cR as well as the fuel rail and injectors so it would run obd1. I also gutted my obd2 dizzy and put in his obd1 wiring so I could attach the dizzy. The car cranks and back fires loud but does not start. Could it be something to do with the dizzy?? Please I need to get this running.

Make sure all wire harnesses are either converted to be all obd1, what ecu is he using? Try pulling the distributor out and rotating the key 180 deg and reinstall, could just have the dizzy 180 out.

He has original obd1 ecu. I thought the dizzy only went in one way. Isnt it slightly bigger on one side of the cam shaft.

If all else's fails I'm going to pull the obd2 harness from my civic and install it in his gsr. That's how it was running in my car. So I think it would work the same right

No i can go on the other way as well especially if its a after market distributor like the Richporter distributor i just purchased recently. Some of the keys on distributors are not bigger on the other end. You mentioned you gutted the obd2 distributor and swaped internals in the other one. this will require you to pull off the key by punching out the pin ect.. you may have put it on 180 out and put the pin back in thinking its on correct. This also hapened to me before so i took the pin out and rotated the key and put the pin back in and installed the distributor and it fired right up.

^^ yes. This is 100% true. OP's problem probably lies in the distributor being 180° off or the distributor wiring.

Or the spark plug wires are not arranged properly.

I ended up pulling the harness and using obd2 harness which was what I was using to run the R in my civic. Swapped everything back out of dizzy and plugged everything up. Car started but is miss firing and it looks like one of the cylinders is getting no spark. But yes I did have dizzy tip out 180• . what could be my miss fire problem. Thinking I might have switched some plugs so I'm going over everything right now. Also the screw holding in the rotor in the dizzy came out and shredded the cap. Due to that 2 cylinders weren't firing up because it wasn't making contact in the dizzy but I bought a new cap and rotor and now only one cylinder is still down. Any suggestions

Double check firing order. Reset the ecu as well.
