my tail lights,instrument cluster and plate lights dont work please help me out before i get pull over.

i was driving my car at night and saw that my cluster light was off

after came out of the car set my alarm and i don't see my tail light blinking as usual whe i set my alarm, i tought i had a burn fuse

check all my fuses and the fuse for the tail lights, cluster, plate lights was burn , so i go head and replace it with one of the same size which is the number 10a and when i turn on my lights i hear a little cracking noise from the fuse that i just replace yes what , it burn also as soon as i turned the lights on, and little white smoke coming out from the wiring bihind the fuse box

wentto my trunk and check my tail lights wiring and find out that a red wire with a black strip was burn (just the plastic )

and check my fuse box again and the same wire which is the one that goes to the tail light, cluster ,plate lights fuse was burn


should i go to the shop where the instanll my alarm , or to the mecanic shop ?

i was thinking to take all my interior out from seats, carpet plastics, and replace the wire that was burn but i am not sure if is going to work , and it takes to much time

any ideas or did u had the same problem and know how to fix it please help me out before i get pull over at night thanks

if you just got your alarm installed then i would take it back to them, otherwise i would take it to a mechanic

i had the same problem. theres a short some where behind my dash. my gauges, parking lights, climate control, plate lights all went out. i checked every place besides behind the climate control/radio area. i just wired all of those lights (they come on with the parking lights) up to my regular headlights. so now my light switch only works on the second click. the first one (parking lights) does nothing. no big deal, i passed state inspection. i went around getting prices to find the short, and it was hundreds of dollars. u seem to know where it is though, so u can trace that wire and replace it. the easiest is just wire them all to ur headlights or taillights (whatever comes on with that second turn of the light switch)

has been fix a wire from my tail lights was been bite by one of my tail lights bolts i figure that when i replace my tail light i did it by accident


i am to fast to worry about getting rear ended
