as far as i know you just take the set screw out and it comes off yes? well i took the screw off and its not coming off. i figured it was just jammed so i pried it with a flat head and broke half the button off. am i missing something? i looked up all the how to's i could fine and the set screw was the only thing mentioned but this thing just is not coming off.

Re: my rotor button wont come off!
try using a good rust breaking oil. tap it from both ends, wiggle it, curse at it and it should pop loose, if not, use extrem caution and take a die grinder with a cut off wheel and cut it loose and do not hit the dist. rotor shaft

Re: my rotor button wont come off!
I had a similar problem with my 98 RS.
Finally got the rotor off with penetrating oil and vice grips.
Chewed it up to get it off.
I had a no start (no cranking) problem also later.
It was the plastic tabs on the clutch pedal arms that press on the clutch interlock switch. The tabs broke and fell to the floor and the interlock switch was not being pressed when you step on the clutch.
The tabs are about $4 each and the top one is a pain to put in.
If ypu see broken pieces of plastic on the floor that's the broken tabs.
Also there is a tab on the brake pedal arm that activates the brake light switch. That also broke and the brake lights stayed on, draining the battery.

Re: my rotor button wont come off!
the car started before just had a bad miss, but at least it ran, now it wont even turn over. i just ordered a rotor button from honda. i put the old cap back on and still nothing so i figure the rotor button is possibly at fault and is a place to start.
