my new gsr
Well i used to have a 99 vogue silver metallic ls but I sold it back in June to my nephew so I could buy an 07 Lexus GS 350. Well I love the Lexus so much I didn't want to put miles on the car so i went looking for another teg. I found this 01 gsr with 165k on the clock for 3500. I have had the car since 10-12-11. Below are some pics of my new gsr.
The day I got it with these huge 17" icw rims.
Got rid of those ugly rims and bought these BMW bottle caps from my local pick and pull and painted them black. Also bought a lip for it.
Well the tail lights where painted black so I had to strip them down and bring back the oem goodness.
Well that's all for now but I have a replacement intake on the way because the previous owner had a ghetto cold air intake made up for it and I have a Kenwood headunit coming to replace the stock one that doesn't play cd's. Looks like I'm gonna have to replace the catalytic converter and the o2 sensor to pass emissions. After that I'm gonna renew the headlights and take off the stupid "eyelids" that are painted on.

Here is a write up I did for the product I used. I started with wet standing by hand and then finished with 3m headlight renewal kit.

Getting the new catalytic converter put on because the old one was gutted.
Hopefully now she will pass inspection and be alittle quieter.

the car looks like it's in the right hands now, looking forward to see what you do with it. That's one thing I can appreciate about the Honda community there are an infinite amount of "me toos" but that creates an opportunity for someone to truly be creative and build something unique.

Yes i have had this car for 1 week and with working 12 hour swing shifts and doing fishing tournaments on the weekends I havent had much time. I really want to get it inspected and legal in the state then do some work on the engine and suspension is next. This weekend I plan on taking the bumper off and cleaning the lenses completely of the black eyelids. I just polished them so i have better light while driving early in the morning.

Re: my new gsr
Well I cleaned up the headlights on Sunday. I took the front bumper off and sanded down all the black paint and then polished the headlights. I think they turned out pretty good.
Here is what they looked like before I took off the nasty eyelids but after i polished the lowbeams.
Here is the after product.
I also installed my 10k hid's yesterday long with my intake that is made for a gsr.
Now I am just looking for a new exhaust that isn't horribly loud. I used to have an apexi ws on my opd teg and I loved it.

Thank god you found it, and saved it. Loosk so much better now. Good luck with it, Keep us posted. I had a WS2 on my 4dr GSR back in the day and loved it as well. As long as you aren't planning on modding much besides basic bolt on's it's a good exhaust.

Re: my new gsr
Had a nice day off of work so I decided to get some work done on the teg. I went this morning to my picknpull and found all the parts I have been looking for. I got a coolant overflow bottle with bracket to replace the Monster Energy drink can the previous owner was using, a rearview mirror since mine was peeling inside, a drivers side fender liner since mine was missing and a stock ls exhaust since the coffee can on mine was to loud. Got everything installed but the fender liner, I need the screws. All of this cost me 46 bucks. Not to bad for parts I had to have. Here are some pics of the muffler before and after and my hids at night.

nice pickups and the stock exhaust will be a nice change of pace. not a fan of the hid's at that temp. the OEM temperature is 4300 i believe.

Re: my new gsr
yeah they are alittle to blue for my liking but i have already paid for them so they are staying for the time being. good news is my fogs on my lexus are the same bulb size so they might be going in there next.
