Default my car did not start today...

my car usually starts good and very strong. today i started it up and went to work, but then after work it would not start. the starter did not click at all i believe. i tried hitting it, cranking it a hundred times. i had to call my brother and we push started it. when i got home and turned it off, and tried starting it back up, it started fine again. do you have an idea of what causes it to do this? starter or relays/switches?

this is correct....loose or corroded wires will prevent the circuit from being complete and current passing through to the starter

the relay point though, not so much

this is the response my mom would say to me if i told her my car wouldnt start..but how old is your battery it may not be holding enough charge. Mine would barely hold charge after i drained it and pop started it for a week. Bought a new battery and all went back to normal.

stick a trickle charger on it over night, or maybe its your starter if that is not it.

if it is the main relay died, wouldnt it stop the car from starting entirely? the car starts fine today, it just randomly doesnt want to sometimes. also, if the main relay is bad, will you still be able to push start it?

not necessarily, from my understanding the relay goes bad progressively, so basically it works when it wants to. Sometimes it can be affected by the temperature outside too, like if its really hot outside, or cold. At least thats how it was when it went bad in my old da. Only difference is that in the da's its called a fuel relay, in the dc's its called a "main" relay because it not only controls the circuits for your fuel but also your dizzy and all other ignition components. It sounds like your problem is that your not getting fuel, check for spark, and check to see if your fuel pump is priming. Or if you have a friend with a teg switch your relay with his and see what happens.

yes i did hear my fuel pump come on, especially since its a walbro255. the car did not crank. it seem like my starter did not click. i had problems with the contacts in the starter about 2 months back. i adjusted the contacts and they worked fine again until now. i will start by replacing the contacts in the starter to see what happens. car started fine today also. i just hate those random times it does not because it makes the car unreliable
