Default mid engine rwd integra k24/k20 swap

alright so im new here and this is my first post. a few weeks ago i picked up my first integra and my first acura in general. its a 96 ls model 2 door loaded with all options (will post pics later). it came with a couple goodies like a cold air intake hid's and a full msd ignition but other than that it was bone stock. sad thing is it just had a b18b1 non vtec. laaame in my garage i also have a mid engine rwd crx that i bought last year that was poorly built so i decided to combine the two and have a well built car that would really turn heads. so i went about cutting the entire setup out the the crx to implant into the teg. the motor specs are as follows

2004 crv k24 block
stock rotating assembly with the exception of crower rods
2002 rsx type s head
stage 2 crower turbo cams
titanium springs and retainers
chipped ecu
rebuilt eclipse turbo running 20 psi max boost
all mated to an rsx 6 speed
in the crx this motor made 440whp on the dyno and was at that point being held back by lack of a good fuel system and the wimpy turbo (hoping to upgrade later).

here are some pics of the crx when i got it

nicely done interior was bout the only thing worth looking at

front end wasnt bad but it had tacky lambo doors with welded on hinges

had a nice power plant tucked in the rear with some mediocre fab work

anyway so tonight we finally got to tearing the car apart in a buddies garage. lots of work to do yet but the motor is out and mobile at least lol

this is what the car looked like when we pulled it in the shop. you can see some of the builers ingenuity with the boat tank in the front and the car is full of expanding foam

gutted the interior and removed the rear firewall

last time this drivetrain will ever be in this chassis

after torching the mounts ad multiple fires due to expanding foam we lifted the car over the subframe and rolled it out

and there it is ready to implant into the integra

still more to come

alright so heres an update. after trying to get the car to run on their fabbed wiring harness i eventually gave up and ordered a hybrid racing swap harness and hopefully it'll be here tomorrow. in the mean time ive gotten some more done. i got the throttle hooke up,clutch line bled, center console done, steering wheel switch, a couple gauges including the factory gas gauge wired up. i got the fuel system plumbed as well so the list is getting pretty small now. all thats really left is to build an engine cover (if anyone has ideas for it pm me because im unsure of what to do yet)fix a brake line that got cut when i was cutting the floor out, and get a radiator temporarily plumped in the rear till i can get lines run to the front radiator.

we've made quite a mess

sadly im still stuck using the gas can for now but at least now its secured in place.

spent over 10 hours trying to sort out their harness all to get a measly little puff out of the motor

car sits nicely

got the center console fabbed up but had to make some mods to get trim to fit

the hatch fit perfectly with nothing hitting

got the new wheel on and the a/f gauge wired up

ended up pulling the trim off the shifter because it looked horrible. might just paint it black so it doesn't stick out as much

Wow, you have to give the creator of that some props, but the fabrication is just, woah...

How are you going to run both engines? Unless the LS up front is auto?

both motors are not getting run justthe rear. the front is getting pulled for a friend. i did not make the rear subframe reall hate the guys that did. and the current welds are pretty much just to mock up the drivetrain. itll be fully welded when i get the car on a lift

so now im having problems. i got my hybrid racing swap harness and had lights on dash and fuel pump running on the key and power to all the sensors. after trying to turn it over a few times i turned the key on and the fuel pump ran for a second then stopped and now the fuel pump doesnt run there is no spark or fuel. its almost as if the ecu isnt getting power. checked all fuses and grounds and thats all fine, replaced the ecu and still no luck. possible main relay? help would be apprectiated

Do you have a solid CEL?

Does the CEL come on when you have the key on ignition 2? Have you tried to power the fuel pump directly to confirm it still functions? Did you get a DMM to verify that the ecu is getting power and ground?

EDIT: did you also check the main relay?

A faulty main relay would cause a solid CEL. But other than that, OP, follow what tony ^^ said.

Thats interesting, and what code would it throw?

I don't think it will show any codes when the CEL is solid. But I honestly don't remember, all I know is that I had a bad main relay, causing a solid CEL, I did a lot of research on the matter to figure it out, because I thought it was the ECU.

Here is a checklist for trying to fix a solid CEL. It's for OBD1 though, but I'm sure the procedures will be the same.

there is actually no real modification to it. if youve ever seen an rsx shift cable you will know it is extremely long. all it does is come forward and make a loop under the carpet to the front of the shifter and attaches like normal

so i finally got this thing driveable. drove it a couple times and the turbo died. blew the oil seal and ate the fins. so after removing it and plugging oil lines it's currently running n/a and surprisingly pulls pretty hard still. tomorrow its going into my dads shop to plump the front radiator, plump heating lines, and get exhaust done.

Damn I didn't realize rsx shifter cables were that long.

Did you end up having to replace the main relay or something? What was the turbo, a 14b?
