It's not a knock sensor. The light just needs to be reset. There's a button underneath the dash. Turn the key to "on", or start the car, and hold down the button until the light goes off. The button's underneath the dash towards the right side (by your right leg kind of). Hope that helps.

that's the check engine light.
The maintanence required light comes on after a predetermined amount of mileage... Its designed to scare people into bringing their car into the dealership to ask them what's wrong. Basically, its a reminder light to make sure you have changed the proper fluids, replaced your belts etc.
After you have done all of that, There is a button underneith the dashboard, with the key in the ignition, press and hold it for about 10 seconds... it should now be reset and not come on until it reaches the next amount of mileage

It's just a mileage reminder. It flashes before it gets to 7500, then after 7500 it stays on solid. Reset button only works while it's flashing or on.
If your brakes are mushy, flush the fluid & bleed them. You don't need a lamp to tell you that...

I can't take it anymore.
In the users manual there is a little diagram that shows where this reset switch is, it's right next to the steering column on the right side, just behind the front plastic. Just hold the button in for about 10 sec and the maint. required light will go out.
Look in the index under maintenance required.

i know where it's located. i was just wondering if the flash counts mean anything that's all.
