Default Main relay/ no start? Help! please!

Hey guys i have a question. Can the main relay still click and prime the fuel pump. And still cause a no start condition?

Does the main relay control the ignition circuit also along with the fuel pump priming?

I have this no start condition really frustrating!

Thanks guys!

ANy help~~

New problem:

Now i have fuel, it cranks, but now i checked if there was spark, ( put screw driver into spark plug wire and cranked engine, i see the spark but it looks VERY WEAK)

Could this be a spark plug wire issue or ICM/COIL/Main relay problem.

And

What are symtoms for bad COIL/ICM

Thanks~~ HELP guys please!!!

I'm not sure on the relay, but if it's a standard your clutch kill switch might be bad now and need to be bypassed..

It's the starter trying to work or are you turning the key and nothing is happening at all?

Hey! thanks for answering.

Yes the car cranks but it doesnt start!!!

I checked there is fuel

there is spark ( checked this by putting screwdriver into spark plug wire and then put the screwdriver over a bolt and then crank it and see the spark jump.)

so i dont think it can be the ICM because there is spark unless i am wrong???

Another thing im considering is the car jumped timing, because everything needed to start is ther!!

Help is appreciated/needed

Thanks guys~~!

If you got spark and fuel and air it must be a sensor that's not working properly I remember working at Honda (I'm an auto tech student) and we had the same problem with a van it just would not start. Makes me believe it is a sensor the mass airflow sensor could be bad

The screwdriver doesn't have really any resistance like the spark dose so current can still go though the screwdriver but not the plug... I recommend a retest using the spark plugs themselves

Did the timing belt break or come loose that's another thing that could be the problem to figure that out you could take the cover off or take the distributor cap off with the rotor have someone turn it over once and see if it moves of not the timing belt is off or broke

Yep I had this problem before and checked out the whole car system by system and just could find the fault.... so a buddy asked if I test spark though a screwdriver or the plug... and when I tested spark though the plug there was none so I replaced the plugs and it fired on the first time

Have you tried switching the main relay yet?
I had the same issue a few years back. I switch the relay for my buddy's off his EG and the car started. Next day I pick up a new one at a local junk yard.

thanks for answers guys!

No the main relay i beleive is working. It clicks on and off and the fuel pump primes. I checked if there was fuel pressure, i took off the hose at the fuel filter and turned on the car, and there was fuel pressure.

The timing belt did not break ( however i did not check if it jumped timing) the belt was pretty loose, i could move it ontop of the cam gear. So tomorrow when it is not raining im going to check it.

Im going to try to check for spark again using the spark plug.

Thanks guys~!!

Any more help / opinions greatly needed

If it was loose it may not catch and therefore not work

it didnt snap i guess fibers would have dethreaded it and caused it to expand possibly but it might be snapped and you cant tell.

Yes.

not directly, but it does supply ECU/ECM with a signal/power, [IGP1 and IGP2].

I have this no start condition really frustrating!

Thanks guys!

The integras and all older model hondas mostly use MAP sensor, even if it were bad it would not cause a no start problem!

That's crazy but I'd get a new belt if it's loose I assumed you did those haha well that's good for you but you don't want the belt to snap not good for the enginev

Ok well im back here again...

Now i have fuel, spark, and cranks, but no spark.... FML man

I tested for spark in the spark plug wire, it was very weak, i could still see it but it was very weak.

Does this indicate bad spark plug wires or a bad ICM/main relay?

Thanks guys~ sorry car decided to **** up again

Could also be the coil in the distributer.

Symptoms would be cranking but won't turn over.

If you are about to spin a bearing or spun a bearing would the noise it be making be obvious? or would you need a stethescope??
