Made in Japan?

Made in Japan?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, just noticed there are a few things on this car that say made in Japan. Theres a sticker on one of the windows that said made in japan that I flat out ignored and then i found that the sticker on the inside of the door says the same. I matched the vin on the door to the title. Does that mean this car was built in Japan, or just the parts and it was assembled here? Does that mean anything either way?

Re: Made in Japan?
The USDM/JDM/UKDM/etc. thing depends on what standards the car conforms to, not where it was built. USDM cars were built in Japan in a factory right next to the JDM cars. It's just that there are some differences that some people covet. E.g. later models in Japan had the revised front end, Japanese models tended to have slightly higher engine compression and slightly higher horsepower, some transmission differences, etc. Mostly, JDM is just a fad in the US, and it's mirrored by similar fads for both JDM and USDM in other countries.
Anyways, your car is a US car with a US-issued VIN -- i.e. it's a USDM car.
Edit: I've assumed you're in the US.

Re: Made in Japan?
Nope.
See the "S" in your VIN? that means "Suzuka", which is a city in Japan. Suzuka is the site of Honda's very first factory, and the site of a famous racetrack. All Integras were built in the Suzuka factory.
In fact, ALL Integras were made at Suzuka regardless of whether they were destined for Japan, Malaysia, South Africa, Russia, Liechtenstein, America, Togo, or Upper Slobovia.
"JDM" means the vehicle was built to conform to Japanese regulations at the time of build. Your automatic GS is quite clearly a USDM vehicle, built to US regulations in effect at time of build. The "DA9" model was North America-only, and the zero in the 12th place means a US-market car. A Canadian market car would have an eight in that position.

It's kind of like ****. Girls have **** and we don't. They think **** are inconvenient at best and gross at worst, but we see them as a symbol of feminine seduction, so we find them desirable.

Re: Made in Japan?
Thats exactly what I needed Gagnar and TheRealTegger, THANKS! 3rdtime no worries, I got the car and the previous owner had the infamous white barcoded "made in japan" decal on the rear window. I dont really do fads and was curious about the made in japan decal and I was going to remove it if it was a lie, I cant stand fronting, faking the funk or whatever but I guess i'm ok as they were all made in Japan. Then again, having a decal on there is even more retarded, because they are ALL made in Japan so thats like saying "look, this Integra was made by Acura!" Ok ill take it off.. That said everything on the car seems stock, which is good because that means no one screwed anything up modifying anything yet right? The tranny was swapped out to a manual tranny but that seems ok. Just trying to get an idea of what I have so i can plan on what id like to do to her. Looks like the cylinderhead is a stock one too if im reading the stamp right. Thanks again all.
