Default ls vtec smokes on startup

Hello,

my ls vtec smokes on start up . Blue smoke , the car loses around a quart of oil a week . I change valve stem seal , changed the rings and still smoked. i also tried another b16a head still smokes . I dont know what esle to do , checked the bore of the block and it is good . Compression is 200 on all 4 cylinders . I check allthreads on here and they say valve stem seals , rings and guides changed all those stuff and same problem . I doubt it rings best compression is good and it only smokes when the car is parked for a while. leading me to valve stem seals , but i changed them and it still occurred and tried a different head and same problem . My oil pump is shimmed could this be cause of the problem ?
Please help

When you changed the rings you properly honed the bores and checked your p2w clearance right? Just wanted to make sure cause it sounded like you just slapped them in.

It sounds like you have either bad valve guides, or bad valve seals. The only other thing I can think is somehow oil is pooling up in your pcv system and its sucking it up on startup.

do you have a vacuum line running to the catch can as well?

well that is strange then... I don't know what to tell you past what you already know. I'd say valve/valve guide clearance is too large or something is wrong with your valve stem seals.

The thing grjr is initially i taught it was valve seals changed them. it still smoked . Decided to take off head and send it to the machine shop they said the guides were good. Car still smoked on start up . i got hold of another b16a head and tried it still smokes. My block is an b18b and i have b16a p30 head gasket . the block was checked by a machine shop . i have no coolant mixing with my oil , so i can only think that maybe the oil pump is shimmed and the oil pressure is too high , but it would likely blow out the filter seal first so i doubt is that

What about your piston rings? I would be looking into a rebuild.

I would just change the guides. Sounds like oil is dripping into the cylinder from the guides when the cars off and the oil is burning on start up.

Yeah but what is the odds off two b16a head needing valve guides. i am wondering if is possible for rings or block to be bad without the exhaust constantly blowing smoke .

You're losing quite a bit of oil if you have to add a quart every week. It's likely you are burning oil all the time but you're only noticing it on start up. Maybe your rings did not seat correctly and you're burning oil past the rings.

OK i have been observing my car after it loses a quart of oil . it seems to stop and stay level at three quarts . Could this mean the oil p;pressure is too high and it is blowing out the oil .
