Default Ls Vtec Questions

Hey guys I have a DC4(LS) And I have it turboed... I now want to go Ls Vtec Turbo...So my question is...it's not tuned yet so what kind of ECU should I get to go Chrome? Cause I figured if I get tuned now with my p74 and get it chipped and then later go Ls Vtec turbo...I am just going to have to get another ECU, chip it again, and get it tuned again. What kind? And what head do you think is best for ls vtec?

Well matt i think that you should wait to get that head and then get tuned. you should get a p28 ecu. you can either have a fast car now or have a faster car later!! which do you want? id go with like a b16 head and some ITR or GSR cams. then you'll haul ***!

socketed P28 FTW

it will allow you to tune and exchange chips in and out much easier

the b16 head will be better for lsvtec because has a smaller sombustion chamber volume than the GSR head, so your compression will be lower than if you use a gsr head

...Matt It's BJ...

Your bottom end will hold boost up to 12-15 lbs. SAFELY. IMO I wouldn't go any higher unless your sleeved and run aftermarket rods/pistons. I'm sure it's been done, and other people will say something higher (psi levels) but your driving your car daily and can't afford to experiment.

I would socket your P28/P72 ECU and try to run a program that has a "VTEC Disable" feature. In your case I think that Chrome Pro has it? If not Uberdata maybe? Anyways you get the point, if you socket your ECU before you get your head and want to drive it, you need to make sure the program has the "VTEC Dis." function..

PS- I'm @ Black Lake watching the Hydro's race today, come down matt..

its not a matter of how much bosst it can hold, its a matter of how much power it can hold. psi dont mean **** if ur puttin down 8000 hp at 5 psi (im exagerrating).
