Looking at buying 93 Integra
So part of me wants to go ahead and purchase the car but another part of me is skeptic. I found a guy selling his 93 integra that has a 2000 ls motor. I havent seen the car in person yet and talking to the guy, he doesnt seem to know anything. He uses the word "headers," cant verify if its a b18b or b18c , he says he hardly uses it and that the swap was done by a friend he knows who loves working on cars. Its a coupe, body looks great, asking $3k but is willing to take $2500 (Ill see if I can get him to go lower) but I dont know if I can trust the swap. Ill ask for papers to verifiy the motor has 120k but people take shortcuts and for the price, it just seems a little too good to be true. Im normally driving the prelude so I thought Id come here and ask you guys for your opinions.

Re: Looking at buying 93 Integra
ask if theres any issues with the car fogging up when it rains. theres a good chance you'd have to fix an annoying passenger side window cowl leak. also check the trailing arm bushings. drive over some bumps at speed. if the rear of the car seems kinda bouncy and squeaks, chances are you'll need trailing arm bushings.
really id only buy it if the dude kept receipts on the swap and it had less than ~120k on it. get some pics of the motor before you go any further. they're fun, light cars. i had three of em, but they are getting harder to find in decent shape. good luck

Re: Looking at buying 93 Integra
Thanks for your reply. I passed on it and found another with 120k original miles, first owned by a school teacher then sold to the seller's boss at acura and now he is selling it. Im more comfortable with this purchase because it looks fantastic. The only issue with the car is that the a/c has been converted to r 134 but needs to be recharged. Other than that, its almost perfect. It has the b18b motor which is alright but these cars are hard to find in great condition. Ill give a look at that car while keeping in mind your advice. Thank you. Ill post pics.

dude if there isnt too much rust underneath and it runs solid id go for it. if thats original paint (looks like it), thats one of the rarer colors. i think captiva blue pearl? how much they want for it? if you dont mind me asking.
stock 4x4 height: check lol. means the suspension prob hasnt been modified or cars been beat on. stock floormats look pretty clean. you cant buy them with the 'integra' embroidery anymore..

Re: Looking at buying 93 Integra
God I've been so busy that I haven't been on lately. It's been a stressfull week, got a citation for doing 60 in a 45, I'm just glad I'm getting by one problem at a time. He was actually asking $3000 for it but here's the thing. I pulled up expecting to see the car but not only do I see the car but I also see the owner and some other guy. Turns out he sold it right when I told him I was on my way, didn't even tell me if he had another buyer coming to look at it. So it was sold, the buyer paid what the seller was asking for and it hurt more seeing the car in person - I'm talking the thing was like new, garage kept. It feels like she was the one that got away...or bought away from me. I'm still looking though for another on my free time. But thanks for your inputs guys!
