Just take a gsr b18c1 block for about 500 bucks for a nice one, a b16 head for another 500, then get itr/ctr cams and valvetrain have them installed and get the head port and polished at a machine shop which would cost around 1000 for that. and that is pretty much a type r motor but without the price... oh yea you would have to buy manifolds and other little misc things like that too if you really wanted to.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Please post using a two little things called spelling and grammer. It makes life much easier for people to read, understand and respond to your post.
As for your actual question, I would just buy a gsr motor (b18c1) and build it. It will be cheaper and more powerful if done correctly.

yeah you can get away with lower insurance, but guess what... if the car is ever wrecked or stolen, the cost of that ITR engine will NOT be covered and you will be out about 5 G's.

very true and that would suck monkey-***-hairy-*****.. and the hopes and the prayers for that not to happen gotta stay very high (the god of cars ). the chances of that happening where i live are very slim.. im not saying it wont happen.. i mean everything is possible. but i have 4 cams in my garage watching my baby.. i alreay had one incident where they robbed my stereo.. i managed to get it back and i did upgrade to a better stereo.. but the kids..yup thats right.. them ******* lil son of a bithces that stole my stereo got some serious *** whooping.. its fun beating up the ******* that steal from you with a baseball bat :D they didnt even go to the cops.. cuz they knew they'd be in ish......******* ignorant punks.. anywho..
so let me get this straight then.. getting the block from a gsr (b18c1) or the motor itself.. can be modified to outrun the b18c5????
i mean i know about cars but thats going abit above my head....

OOORRRR... "I" would (if your wanting to save more money) just get a gsr motor and put in ctr pistons w/ supertech vavletrain and ctr cams w/ BLOX or skunk 2 intake manny!! much cheaper than the "poor mans R" and you'll have a lil higher compression w/ the gsr head. but thats just me... either way your gonna have a nice setup or just go w/ an LS block and a built VTAK head w/ a b16 tranny

Think, then type.
There have been countless discussions over the differences between the C1 and C5. A B18C1 isn't far behind, and with a few bolt-on's and a good tune can be on par or faster the Type R's motor.
If you REALLY have the funds, put a K20A R motor in that biatch

If you got that much money then go with Type R cuz it's already fast exhuast/intake/header and your done. would you pay that much money on the R motor and then a couple more grands to build it up, think about that.

Re: (Shin-tegra)
so let me get this straight with plenty of work done on a b18c1... that mo'fo would beat the hell out of the b18c5...
but now.. if we were to do some serious mods' to the C5 just like u guys are recomending on the C1.. wouldnt that outrun the C1 that was highly modified?
basically it comes down to the fact of the matter that depending on the input on the motor. .... is how the output will be determined!!!!
pretty wild how u guys came up with the crazy list of things that can be done to the C1...im sure some motor-maniac can come up with some sort of crazy adjustments to the C5...
but basically what im looking for is a motor that comes with a pretty decent amount of horse power.... and that i can be craaaaaaaazy modified...
and i mean dont get me wrong y'all got some serious ideas that can definetly outrun cop cars...lol

What kind of budget do you have for this swap?
Seriously, if you're going to be putting in a B18C5 THEN seriously modifying it, it sounds like you're in a good financial situation so you're better off going with the K series. All everyone else is saying is that for less then the cost off a C5, you could probably build a faster engine with the C1 and some minor mods.

I'm about to say the same internals are the only diference between the C5 and C1. why would pay that much money on a C5 and then build it stock R internals are ready to go.
C1 block/ b16 head and build it up = cheaper than getting an R motor.
