Re: Just did a Compression Test....
Cylinder #1 (closes to cam gears): 80psi
Cylinder #2: 140psi
Cylinder #3: 70psi
Cylinder #4: 169psi
im getting bad blowby. the nipple on the valve cover is constantly shooting out smoke with quite a bit of oil that is yellow milkyish color. i pull out the dipstick while its on, and theres smoke coming out of there. NEED HELP GUYS. ANYTHING WOULD BE GREAT.
Thanks HT.
Excessive smoke emitting from the valve cover and dipstick hole is usually blowby. Could be Rings or Valve stem seals, which would explain the low compression numbers. Run the compression check again, this time put a bit of oil into each combustion chamber, though the spark plug tube, before attaching the compression gauge. Did the numbers improve at all?
Milkyish colored oil means that coolant is getting inside the crankcase somewhere. Drain the oil out of the pan and check for coolant. Look for black specs in the radiator filler neck. These symptoms indicate a headgasket failure.
At this point, I think a leakdown check is in order. Without opening up the motor, its the only way to get an answer. Regardless of what the results of that are, you are still looking at a teardown to remedy any of these issues.
Probably time for a rebuild.

thanks for the input guys. i was hoping it wasnt the rings. but oh well...
i think im going to either Rebuild. IE; piston rings and bearings, stem seals and gaskets. or buy someone sleeved block on HT marketplace.

Re: Just did a Compression Test....
it really sounds like rings to me
you must not have had it tuned right for your boost levels, and either cracked your rings or pistons, or you flat out burned the rings out...
this is why proper tuning and maintenance is a MUST for boosted cars.. i have seen SOOOO many people do this same thing in DSM's allllll day... too much boost, no supporting mods, shitty tune, broken pistons/rings
time for a rebuild.. that sucks..
its a 95 LS with 132k miles on it. and it was boosted.

Re: Just did a Compression Test....
^^ You have cracked ringlands. The little nipple blowing off on the valve cover is a sure sign of cracked ringlands. Its not a blown headgasket. GL on your rebuild.
