so it will pop start no problems but wont start on its own. hhmmmm.... check the grounds to ur starter and all other grounds. if all that is good i would say u need a starter.

just because it measures 12 volt does not mean it is still good i would check the wire that goes from the battery to the frame if you decide to check the grounds first

curious, but could it be the clutch safety switch? grounds seem good havent had time to actually check them with a DMM but there is no corrosion or anything on them at all, the two chassis grounds and the one from the battery. also the ground strap to the starter and the hot wire from battery to starter is on tight

it would be like trying to start ur car without hitting the clutch. cuz the switch is either open or closed. so if it was ur switch it would be open and nothing would happin. only when its closed will it send a signal to ur relay and start ur car./

yeah take the starter off and tear it a apart see which part went bad you can get just about any piece for it for under 30$ except for the celinoid that is the most expensive piece but that is not it cause it clicks last time that happen to me it was the brushes and you can get those for under 30 at advance auto parts

am pretty sure if you need to run the car without the starter in it you can take the ground wire and just attach it to the transmission
