Introduction to my New (to me) car!
My new (to me) car is a white 93' GS-R. I purchased it off a friend of a friend who no longer had time to put into it or the money for that matter since his GF got pregnant.
She def. needed some TLC! But after about a month of owning it I've done alot, though more still needs to be done.
Check it out and let me know what ya think.
A few pics from the day I went to check it out.
He took me for a ride in it due to the clutch being bad. After thinking it over, and waiting for the insurance check to come in from the damage to my last car. I picked it up for $2300 on a Wednesday. Had my buddy who has a shop order me a new clutch, Exedy Stage one clutch kit, and an ACT 11.5 lbs flywheel. It was a good thing!!!
First time I ever saw a clutch like this!
The spring released out of the clutch plate and was grinding away at the pressure plate fingers!
And here are the shinny new parts!
After one weekend of work, Clutch, JDM 1-Piece Headlights, Swapped the stock red/amber tails out of my old car, swapped the interior including seats (both front and back) and lower dash panels. Swapped my RS*R cat back exhaust and put the stock intake box i had from my other car on, and my head unit and speakers.
There may have been some other small things but can't remember. Here are the results after that weekend.
Tacking on some more work time here and there when I wasn't at work or working on HW. I swapped my Suspension, Tokiko HP Blue shocks with Ground Control coilovers. Brakes, Powerslot Rotors and Hawk pads. Rest of the interior panels.
And the most showing of all was the day and a half spent clay baring, Miguires Deep paint cleaner, polish and wax along with removing the pinstriping during the paint cleaner stage.
And just today I got the VAFC II mounted under the head unit. Just trying to decifer the wiring diagrams so that i can hook it up without really screwing things up! Once i have a chance to get some sheet plastic I'm going to fill in the gaps on each side.
Before:
After:
For now that's all that's done, however on the plans in the next few weeks before our big Central IL meet I'm going to get the valve cover re-powdercoated, and I'm posibly going to pick up a set of white slips and sell my Fat 5's (Hamerheads) after I finish Polishing them. I think the white slips will set off the look of the car better.
Send the comments my way!!!!!!!

Thanks! That is the original B17 from what I've been told. It's been cleaned once with simple green but still needs more work eventually. Same with the Engine performance, Time and money are off the essence when you are a college student, however I graduate in May. Hopefully that will give me more time and money to put into the Teg. Not Totally performance, but first on the list of things are: K&N filter, Timing belt and water pump, and new motor mounts since both the torque mounts are shot, makes it kinda hard to put power to the ground. Also the 1-2 syncro is on it's way out so that will need to be redone before I do any major motor work.

Well it was a friend of a friend i bought it from. And actually he didn't do it either. The long and short of the story is, he owned it, sold it to a kid who had to have his gf's dad co-sign the loan, the relationship went south, the kid stopped paying, the father repoed the car, and my friend saw it just sitting at a shop, realized it was his old car, got the info for the father who had co-signed for the car, bought it back and shortly after that got a job that took up alot of his time, and his gf became pregnant, so the car sat there for 3 months. then i bought it and brought it back to life.

That intake is out already, put the stock airbox from my other car in there. Thanks for the warning though.
