ok i got a 1997 integra gsr and the abs light has been on for a while. what do i need to check what the code is and what is wrong. can i use a OBD II scanner to check the abs light?? i no it can check the check engine light but can it check the abs light ??

check your sensors, they probably just need to be cleaned

do you hear the ABS motor run when you start the car? check the battery connections for the ABS are not corroded and clean.

You can check the abs code yourself by jumping your ecu (jumper/paper clip). Not sure where the thread is in here that explains what each blink means....typically, the abs wheels sensors are dirty and they just need cleaning. To answer your question about hooking up a scanner, shouldn't be a problem...
