my plans for my motor
ok ive decided to do a little build on my motor. i have a 2000 gsr that has been fully converted to obd-1. currently running virgin p28 ecu. im planning on having around 200whp. how do i plan to achieve that u ask? i do not know. this is my first build ever. i've done a little research and came up with this plan. check it out and let me know what u think......any positive imputs are welcome.
i have 2 choices:
run a b16 head or a c1 head?
i've picked up a pair of 2001 itr cams
planning on running jdm itr pistons (standard) trying to stay under 11:5 CR
ls crank,rods and acl bearrings
h22 injectors
rmf header
blox manifold
maybe hondata s200 for tuning

Re: my plans for my motor
I would strongly suggest doing more research in this post in the ALLMOTOR form.
Official All Motor Dyno Thread!

Also with the parts you currently have list you will not make 200whp.

Re: my plans for my motor
s13 morgan- i didnt mention the intake because my mind was already set on the 3" sri.
oh 1fstgsr- the link u posted above shows more ls/b20/v & itr motors. im not trying to do nothing crazy or extreme. by looking at my parts listed, can you explain why i wont make 200whp? im not doubting you, im jus curious of what is needed more to achieve my goal. im 90% done gathering my parts listed and is very close to do the tear down. and if your saying im not gonna get 200whp then i would like to know wut else is needed to get wut im in search of...thanx.

Re: my plans for my motor
Here is another link for more information. At least 1.8L engines.
Let's see your 1.8L OEM Bottom-end, ALLMOTOR, 91 Octane Dynos
https://honda-tech.com/forums/all-motor-naturally-aspirated-44/lets-see-your-1-8l-oem-bottom-end-allmotor-91-octane-dynos-1263436/
Currently I'm am running CTR/ITR cams in my GSR. I haven't been to a dyno on my most recent setup but I am very close to 200whp on a dynojet based off my fuel injector duty cycle.
I posted the key items from my build below. As you can see it is not going to be cheap to get 200whp with ITR cams. My suggestion, if 200whp is necessary get bigger cams with a good Valve train. Skunk2 Stage 2, Skunk2 Pro1, Buddy Club IV, Rocket M22, JUN 3, Toda B, something along these lines. This also might blow your budget.
I would look at the Skunk2 Pro or Edelbrock Performer X intake manifolds.
I’m just not a fan of Blox products.

Re: my plans for my motor
well just because ur a bigger fan on skunk2 mani or edlebrock isnt gonna make me change my mani lol. im sure with my set up if i dont get to 200whp i will be pretty dang close. like around 190+. ur set up and mines isnt too far of a differance. 2.5in header all the way back to muffler, high comp piston, bigger injectors, and u just have head work and alot of itr internals in the head. we have the same cams, and my block is gonna have a tiny bit more displacement with the ls crank and rods. im almost sure i will get 200 to the wheels....no????

The reason I suggested the Skunk and Edelbrock is that they are know to produce better results over the Block.
I have seen many LS/VTEC even with larger cams come up short of 200whp, most land between 180-190.
Good luck on you build. Get it done and on a dyno and we'll see how it does.
