Love the Koni's and Ground Control
I just had my Koni yellows and Ground Controls installed. The Ground Controls have the Koni yellow sleeves and fit perfectly. I went with a 350f and 300r spring rate to keep it mild for daily driving and stiff for auto crossing when I have a free weekend.
The difference is unbelievable, my car feels like a true sports car. I haven't had a chance to play around with it yet and am still on the softest setting. I went with a Skunk2 camber kit up front and did the washer shim in the back. I am very pleased with this set up. It rides great and I have no squeaks.
I went with this set up after reading several threads and hearing how others were so pleased. Anyone who is considering this set up, it is a MUST!

Congrats on a great setup! I'm envious. I'd like to be running the same one, but I have H&R Sports for now. Have fun with it!

Do me favor check the Ground Control sleeves and see if they are hitting/rubbing on the springs. I had a big problem with that. Had to move the seat to the lowest setting and move the perch on the sleeve up an equal amount so there was less sleeve to hit the spring. I cant see how this isnt a more common problem.

Re: Love the Koni's and Ground Control (Muckman)
From what I can see there appears to be a soild 1/2 inch all the way around between the inside of the spring and the sleeve. When I swap wheels in a few weeks I will take a closer look and see if there is any sign of abrasion.

Re: Love the Koni's and Ground Control (skygtr01)
very cool. I love my setup as well.
Muckman - funny you mention it, the threads on my sleeves also got rubbed off My drop is about medium with the Koni SP3's (allowing 3 perch points..set in the middle for mine).
dno't know what to say. Only problem I see is some corrosion, which won't really effect anything.

Re: Love the Koni's and Ground Control (Tweakmeister)
I was in contact with Ground Control about this extensively and they could not give me a good reason why it did this. I am confident its not from my install since Ive reinstalled the front suspension prob 4 times. Ive watched the spring/strut combo compress with my fender off. When its uncompressed everything is perfectly centered and as it compressed the spring bowes out for some reason and starts to come in contact with the Ground Control sleeve.
When I first installed my suspension it was VERY harsh and I blamed the springs. I learned the spring coil was literally resting all the weight on the sleeve such that the spring was not allowed a full range of motion. My sleeves were very damaged and I ordered new ones.
The only way I was able to correct this was to put the sleeve hat down on the lowest seat then adjust the Ground Control perch and equal amount. So my car was at the same height however there was less sleeve in the middle of the spring coil. Now it doesnt rub anymore but I dont have as much adjustablity as the product was designed for.
I started an archived thread abot this a long time ago.

go hearing from you muck.
I bought mine new, didn't think twice about the threaded adapter heights (I think they were both the same )
thanks for the links, I'll jack up the car one of these days and give it a look.

I don't understand those solutions... the spring should not be bowing at all if everything was in its proper place and in good working order.

Re: (whiteinteg95)
Right now I have the stock GS-R blades and tires, 195/50/15. I'm still on the softest setting, but this weekend I will fool around with the stiffness and see if launches are improved.

Congrats. I've got the same setup on my GSR, except my spring rates are 400f, 450r. I love 'em, too.

Suprisingly, the 450s are firm, yes, but I would not say they are too stiff for daily driving. And, yes, this is for autocrossing. And truth be told, my car still doesn't rotate as well as I would like. The rears should be more like 550 or 600 to get it to handle the way I want, but I'm thinking those rates would be too stiff for around town driving...

yeah I run 500 and think it's still a little soft.
your SHOCKS are what dictates the ride quality. with Koni Yellows it rides like a Caddy when on the soft setting.

Re: Love the Koni's and Ground Control (skygtr01)
I'm trying to think back to all the posts CRXLee (a Koni employee) has made.
Basically they'll handle the 500's. As with all shocks, you replace (or revalve in Koni's case) them when the time is due.
You won't blow Yellows on 500 rate springs, not for a long time.

hey. . congrats. . i just wanted to say that's a great setup and a less expensive way to gain some great suspension. My friend did the same setup for a 2001 civic hx and it's dropped with no wheel fender gap. . rides great and turns great

Not my Konis, at least not with my POS H&R Sport springs.
