Default how to find the electrical problem!!!!

noticed there are alot of electical problem posts so i figured this could be useful.

Here is the fool proof way to find any electrical drain!
make sure ignition is off and doors are all closed.
disconnect any one of the battery cables and connect a light tester to the cable and to the terminal. if the light comes on then there is a drain. (note: your cd head unit will draw some amps for memory but it shouldn't be way less the 100mA)

if there is a drain, leave the light connected between the battery and cable and start pulling fuses underhood and dash (once again make sure the door is closed cuz when its open there will be a drain due to the door trigger.) as soon as you pull a fuse that makes the light go out, that circuit is your short!
then the hard part is trying to trace wires to find the short!

TIP: if you have any accessories connected straight to your battery(ie. deck, foglights etc) re-route them to you fuse box. this will put less drain on your battery, easier starting and thus less work for your alternator. this will also improve any dimming your interior lights might suffer.

hope this is useful info. and ;hope it saves you a crap load of cash.
