for a manual tranes there are 2 screws on the trannie a lower screw and a higher screw. the lower screw is the drain and the high screw is the fill. u have to use this really long funnel that goes into the fill and goes all the way on top of the engine bay. u fill the trannie fluid untill it starts coming out then u put the screw in.
its very important to use trannie fluid and not normal motor oil. lots of ppl just use normall motor oil and it ***** up the trannie.

for a auto trannie there should be a dip stick and u fill it untill the dip stick says its full. theres no dip stick for a maunal trannie.

i useing neo synthetic manual trannie oil in my car it works great and its very smooth although it is kind of expensive

to fill the tranny, I used a hand pump kinda like the ones they have for soap bottles. It came with a hose and screwed onto the MTF bottle. It took a while to pump though , but at least it wasn't messy

thats the hard way. easy way is to drain from the drain plug. fill by removing the speed sensor one 10mm bolt and remove whole speed sensor and fill its that easy. honda mtf always. i think around 3.5 quarts of honda mtf.

I just used a long *** hose and a funnel. Then, I just held it up and stood next to the car a poured. Much easier than taking out the speed sensor.

Agreed... buy a 2' piece of clear PVC hose and slip it onto the end of a funnel. Snake the hose down from up-top in the engine bay into the fill hole. Pour the oil into the funnel and it goes into the tranny, 2.3L or so should do it.

Yeah, it was a pretty easy job.

I bought a funnel and filled it up that way.

Next up, is Valve Adjustment for me.

funny, I just did that mess today. The vent plug can fill the tranny too... only the hole is about 1/4" wide and tends to slobber a bit... but easy.

I use one of these:

It works great. Just make sure you have a pan underneath to catch overflow.

Long clear tubing that fits onto a funnel was my cheap solution to this problem.

by filling the tranny thru the speed sensor....how do you know when its full. because you can never really empty the tranny completely. is it bad to over fill?????

you still leave the fill hole open, so you can see it spill out. Or, if you know how much oil your car takes, you can just use that amount. I think B18C5-EH2's car took 2.5 quarts every time he did it.

wow the CORRECT WAY is this,

put a shop towel around your CV boot. open the FILL plug FIRST. you don't want a tranny with no fluid should somehting happen. open the drian plug and drain the tranny. it come sout fast. new washer on drain plug, torque to 29ft/lbs, take a funnel wiht a flex tube. i got one for like $4 at pepboys and the tube is removable. stick the tube in the hole and slowly pour honda MTF in until it leaks out the fill hole. make sure it's at the bottom of the fill hole. then wipe up excess, new washer on the fill plug and torque it to 33ft/lbs. wipe up and clean any fluid off the CV boot wiht a rubber safe cleaner if you happened to get some on there. drive around. your tranny will smoke slightly until the exccess fluid burns off.

and FYI it's 2.2L at oil change and 2.3L at overhaul. if you wanna argue with this procedure, call HELMS Inc.

Excess fluid will most like leak out of the axle seal. Don't overfill!!
