Default rpm jumping

Hi I have a 95 integra ls with gsr motor and trans. When im cruising or idling or well doing pretty much anything my rpm gauge will tweak out jumping past redline the jumping to 0 rpms or any were inbetween the engine will either lose all power and die or start missing and back firing. Anyone have any ideas what may cause thos even the old ls motor did this I dont think the swap did it. Thnx for your help

I'm pretty sure that means your icm/ignitor in the distributor is no good.

Check the connections to the ICM and coil, make sure they are all tight, you may have to "crimp" the "quick release" terminals a lettle to tighten them up. 94
