Default 30 mph shift from 1 to 2nd (auto)

anyone have this happen? I spoke to Pat Goss from Gosses Garage on this issue and he stated that it sounds like a temp sensor that is not telling the ECU that the engine is warm. I know which sensor it is and plan or getting one .... car has all maint done to it and the trans fluid is still pink and not burnt smelling

I was just wondering if anyone has seen this? I have searched
thanks....R

I start going and the car does not shift into 2nd until 30mph. It should be lower

Yeah, the car does not think it is warmed up, so it delays the shift a little bit to try to make it warm up faster.

I'd say you hit it on the money.

either

1. the rear mount is going out and it feels like it kinda jerks or you need a new tranny,

if the temp sensor isn't working, it would eventually warm up, and run fine but if its always running like that its something else.

If the sensor is not sending a signal to the ECU then it doesnt matter how cold or hot the engine is .... there are 3 sensors 1. fan 2. guage 3. to let the ECU know the engine is warm and to shift at a lower speed (built that way to make the engine warm up fast on start and go's)
