Default How do I change the trans fluid? (96 Integra 1.8 non-vtec Auto)

My sister just bought a 96 Automatic Integra GS or LS (idk) with the 1.8 non-vtec motor. I need to change the trans filter and fluid asap, its not even a redish color anymore its like kinda clear. From what I found read is a drain plug that I just unscrew and drain out the fluid just like changing oil, then there is another hole I use to fill up the trans.

Questions:

Do Hondas have transmission filters? Autozone, Napa, and Murrys (Auto Parts Stores) dont seem to carry one for this car.

What kinda fluid do you recomend? I think im going to use Dextron III , it was one kinda I found that can be used for Honda Cars.

How many quarts of fluid does the Trans hold?

no need to change the filter unless u really want to drop the trans pan.

use honda atf fluid. dont use the generic dextron III.

3-4 qts. check the owners manual.

I want to also change the filter too if it is a easy job. Are there any write-ups around with pictures that show you how to "drop the pan". It was quite easy to change the trans filter on my car, but im not sure about this Integra.

there is no pan on these trans. there is a screen or something in the guts of the trans so all you can do is change the fluid unless you want to remove the trans from the car and dissasseble it to get at it, which really isnt worth it. the drain bolt has a magnet on it which will be full of metal sludge that you will want to clean off.

I guess I will just drain and refill the transfluid. Seems easy enough.

THANKS guys
