Default replaced headgasket.... white smoke from exhaust still after install?

so.. i was getting alot of smoke out of my exhaust and breather tube, small oil leak between head and block on left side. oil change showed coolant. SO, i figured it was a blown HG...

pulled the head, the HG had like a whitish/greenish build-up around the 2 cylinders only the left side of the motor. think of like an old price tag getting wet and stuck to the HG and block. seemed weird..

motor does have a block guard.. which on the block isnt 100% level with the block surface, its slightly below the block surface, i figure that should be OK, since its normally not there, lower is better than higher.

I have the head checked for warpage with a dial indicator it checks out within the .002 limits.

I install a new HG, reuse ARP studs <2nd time> and torque correctly per ARP specs. torque down cam holders correctly, everything seems good.

start engine... its smoking from what appears to be around the turbo manifold, but when i pulled the head off, oil spilled over it, my guess is that its just the oil burning off?. white smoke is coming out of the exhaust, kinda alot. about the same amount as before i decided to change the HG. I double check that the cams are set for TDC correctly and they are.

I cleaned up the entire head and most of the block of old oil and dirty with break cleaner, but some of the smoke coming out of the breather suggests the smoke is coming from inside the engine.

It has maybe a total of 10 min run time so far. With all the smoke dont want to push it. I figure id ask some questions first. any info?

I dont think the HG is upside down, you can see a shiny metal tab on the front left corner of the block that sticks out just above the tranny, the numbers on it are right side up.

CEL #10 is for the AIT air intake temp sensor. when i first started it up, i accidently had the plug for the IAC conected, essentially switched. so, i switched them correctly, but im still getting the CEL for the AIT.

im more worried about all the smoke out of the exhaust. its white. could it just be like.. remnence of the old coolant/oil mixture in the system? There is a small bit of basically clear liquid in my muffler pipe. It appears to be water, im assuming it was produced from steam from the whole HG issue to begin with.
