1995 Integra RS

okay recently my clutch wouldnt grab anymore so i decided to change my clutch.

I used a stage 3 gripforce clutch with 8.9 pound flywheel.

Before the clutch change my tranny was making a noise during idle without the clutch pushed in.

I figured changing the clutch would also take care of this noise because I thought it was the release bearing gone bad which it was so i replaced that and the other bearing in the flywheel. cleaned the housing up and reinstalled everything perfectly fine.

Fill with tranny fluid and bled everything and upon test driving the clutch engages perfectly runs perfectly and has no issues no notching no grinding no issues everything is perfectly fine but the noise is still there.

Now when i push in the clutch to the floor the sound goes away its only when i release the clutch the sound arises and its quite loud i can hear it in the cabin plain as day and its pissing me off.

I cant for the like of me figure out what it is. maybe something on the internals of the tranny ?

what should i do and will it hurt anything ?

sounds likr main shaft bearing going bad. same **** happend too me.but i drove with it like that for six months and it blew out the side of my tranny cause thats were the bearing is att on the pass side of the car

but its inside the housing eh? u know when u take the housing off to access the clutch components, u also have the the throwout bearing and release lever. But if u accually take the housing itself apart is this where the bearing is ? accually inside the housing that comes off itself ?
also is there a part number, picture or a specific name ?

also note ive had the noise before the clutch change and even using everything breand new including the throutbearing and everything its still makeing this noise. so the only place i can figure is accually inside the housing itself

also have haynes manual and it doesnt speficily tell me how to diganose this p[roblem it just says it could be two things

one being the release bearing but that was changed out to brand new aswell, so it leaves only the one other thing, *cant remember exactly atm the haynes is downstairs"

you will get clutch chatter sometimes from an aftermarket clutch

how bout this, get in your car, push the clutch in fairly quickly, and if you hear the noise fade after the clutch is pressed, its the main shaft. when you decelerate in a gear does it get louder. almost positive its the main shaft

when i change from third to 2nd i hear it chattering/grinding sometimes ittl feel like it skips a few teeth . keep in mind this clutch is STAGE three and 8.9 lbs flywheel, the clamp on this clutch is insane i love it. but like i said the noise was there b4 the clutch change im thinking it has something due to being on a highway at excessive 184 km/h speeds for like 20 minutes back at importfest last year leaving the stadium.

and yeh when i push the clutch to the floor the chatter goes away

its just a rustling chatter type noise, im sure its the shaft your telling me about. are there any tutorials on how to change / fix this?

and im guessing im gonna have to take the ****ing tranny back out again damn that was a bitch without a tranny jack and working on the floor...

also it looks to be #17 from those two pics cause i cant see it being the #16 washer..
