Help: 98 Integra Temperature Rises to HOT, BUT car "NOT" overheating!
98 Integra LS w/ auto tranny
150k miles
don't know maintenance history since i just bought it a couple of months ago.
after normal driving and getting to normal temp, the temp gauge goes to HOT/H while idling at a stop, drive thru...etc. When I drive, it goes down. When I REV the engine at a stop/parked, the temp goes back down to normal.
the Radiator fan turns on fine. The lower coolant hose is HOT. The coolant is not steaming out. The coolant is not bubbling/boiling. The engine is not "out of the ordinary" hot. In short, the car does not feel like it is overheating.
What could it be?
Thanks in advance

Check the coolant level while the car is running. Can't be the T stat since the temp only goes up when you stop. Nothing is leaking or bubbling so it can't be air. This happened to me on my Rover, my coolant level was low. If it still persists, get a pressure test.
