I have a Haynes because I need a manual for the car but can't afford Helms yet. It's decent. I think it would be good to have both Haynes and Helms, for one thing because Haynes uses almost all photographs to illustrate things, which can sometimes make things more clear. I think Haynes may go into more detail about just regular maintenance stuff than Helm's, can anyone confirm?

I would post a scan from a page of the Helms (as an example), but I don't want to host any copyright violations on this site.
As for which one to get - I have the Haynes and the Helms. I can't find the Haynes, and I'm using the Helms right now to plan my work for today.

i got both. Dont waste your 12 bucks on the haynes. Its a piece of poo poo with worthless directions. Go and get the helms one. You'll never regret it. Instructions are step by step. Plus its 3 times as big. I also got the honda body and electric manual. Theyre all very good

first i bought the Haynes that combined both the Gen 6 (96+ civic) Civic w/ the Gen 3 (94+) integra... then i bought the Helms... the helms is way more detailed... i think for basic maintenances the Haynes is OK.. but for larger jobs, or taking things apart.. get the helms... i bought both... if i were to get another car.. i'd just start out buying the Helms..

The Helm manual is the "official" factory manual for a good reason...it kicks a5s. The cost difference is like 30 bucks, assuming the Haynes "manual" is 20 and the Helm is 50.

if you got some extra cash buy the factory service manual...10x more detailed than any other book...lots of pictures and easy to follow directions...only about 80 bucks

It really boils down to what you want to do and your mechanic skills/background.
Basic maintainance or light repairs then Haynes will do.
If you're into rebuilding engine or something similar then Helm is the book for you.

The Helms assums you already know alot of poo poo and jumps directly into things, while the Haynes is a more step by step beginer book. It is nice to have both.
I have found that somethings in the Haynes are inaccurate compared to the Helms.

why TF would you bump **** from 02? both are **** vs FSM/ALLDATA/Mitchel, most only have access to an FSM tho unless you work at a shop or are going to a tech school.
