Default Anyone have a Skunk Manifold on their GSR?

I am installing a Skunk2 intake manifold on a 1999 GSR. The EVAP purge control canister doesn't seem to have a place to fit on the new manifold... can someone tell me where they mounted theirs? Anyone have pics of the finished installation?

Thanks

i think that is the hardware to open up the 2ndary runners on the GSR manifold.....its got a bracket and a few vaccum hoses connected to it right?........just disconnect it from the wiring harness and remove it completely....you don't need it with the new manifold

Default Here's a pic of the finished install...

What are you doing with your throttle cable and bracket? And your coolant hose?

Tiny, where is ur EVAP purge control solenoid? Did u keep the plastic canister that was under the manifold? There is a sensor plug on that canister as well.... As far as the coolant hoses and throttle cable bracket, I need some advice on that too...

Thanks

It looks like an ITR T-body to me.

You're right, it's an ITR throttle body.
As for the canister? I don't know. I honestly didn't do the install myself. The throttle cable and bracket are from an ITR. And I do know that you'll need a longer coolant hose.

da_rockwilda: I'll host your pictures. Email them to me.

So we can get rid of the IAB vacuum unit (the plastic blank thing under the manifold) entirely with no check engine lights from the sensor? Good. One less piece to worry about securing.

As far as the EPCSV (evap) hose connection, I thought there was a place to connect it to. I got a longer hose because the OEM one was too short.

I'm not looking forward to undoing the factory wire loom for the IACV and IAT (the unit that bolts on the manifold next to the throttle body) because it's not reaching now.

By the way, for anyone who has used the GSR TB; did you have any leakage issues with the connection between the TB and the ITR AEM CAI? The rubber connector is way bigger than the TB, and I'd like to know now if it'll seal properly with just the hose clamp or if I'll have to put something on the throttle body to get it to seal correctly.

Personally, I don't think it looks bad and it's secure there. But you can always try putting the PCV (blue object) underneath the manifold like the above picture in this post and run the wires between the runners.

BTW, what does that small line (5/16") on the top far right of your manifold connect to?

That little canister you guys are talking about, I pulled it off. I believe I only have 3 sensors on the skunk manifold.

Just to let you guys know... I just got off the phone with Skunk2 and they said to use a t-fitting to connect the EVAP hose to the PVC hose, then connect then to the same fitting on the top front of the manifold.
