Default GSR/ITR Rebuild; Need Help

Got a few questions about rebuilding a GSR motor. So, here they go:

1. Is there any website that sells a rebuild kit w/ OE Honda Parts??? Also, what internals would you all trust going into your daily driven motor?

2. Can I run a GSR crank, head, and block w/ ITR Pistons, rods, bearings, valves and valve springs w/out running ITR cams. Right now I don't have the money to dish out on the ITR cams and would like to use the GSR Cams until I can save up.

3. Also, the head I have looks to be in pretty good condition, The valves are caked b/c the pistons rings we're shot so would you all recommend replacing the valve springs and retainers or not. Also, is it possible to run GSR valve springs w/ ITR valves?

4. On average how much is this going to cost me to have done??? I got a quote on having the crank machined and the cylinders bored and honed for $165.50. All in all would it be better to just sell this long block and buy one say off Hmotorsonline.com for $1800, or rebuild the one I have.

5. On the actually swap correct me if I'm wrong but I use the wiring harness and the ECU for the B18 and just buy a jumper harness, is this correct? Or do I use my ECU??? I have a 97 HX btw. Also, I need to buy integra axles right?

I know I have a lot of questions, this is my first rebuild and my first swap so I'm a little unsure of just how this is all going to come out. BTW, the reason I am taking on this task is because I bought the full swap for 700 bucks and I couldn't pass it up. Huge thanks in advance.

1. none that I know that sells complete rebuild kits.
2. yes you can run a gsr crank, head, block w/ itr pistons. Since your rebuilding it, I'd recommend replacing all your seals, bearings, head studs, rod bolts, get new rings on those itr pistons, and after inspecting your block, you might need to get it rehoned. It will be fine to run it with gsr cams, but just dont expect huge gains w/ just itr pistons./
3. Take your head to a shop/machine shop and have them inspect it for cracks, bent valves, etc. Since your head will be off, I'd recommend replacing the valve springs and retainers if you plan on running some bigger cams in the future. And yes you can run gsr valve springs with itr valves.
4. $1800 for a complete long block?
5. If you plan on using the stock gsr intake manifold w/ the iabs, you can use a obd2A 1996-1999 GSR p72 ECU and it'll plug directly into your stock ecu harness. If you plan on swaping out the intake manifold w/ a skunk2/blox/etc (single stage manifold), you can look for a 1998-1999 ITR ECU...

1. Ok, thanks
2. & 3. All you listed I am going to do, bore/hone/machine crank/replace all seals, gaskets, valves, etc. Pretty much everything is going to be brand new except the crankshaft and cams.
4. yes, 1800 for a Long Block B18C1
5. I am planning on buying a skunk 2 mani to get rid of the butterfly's. Why can I not use the stock GSR ECU w/ a skunk 2 intake mani?

BTW, thanks for all your help.

for $1800, I'd rather just use that money and build up your block, basically making it brand new when your done. As for running the stock gsr ecu with a skunk2 IM, the car will bog at around 4400 rpm. The stock gsr ecu will still be looking for your iabs, thus a loss in torque and overall power.

so, if I use the factory Intake mani and the GSR ecu and wiring harness I shouldn't have to run any different wires for the iabs to work correctly right?

Alright, cool, will I have to run a seperate wire for the iabs? It would be on the harness right?

well i have a type-r motor and im runing a gsr ecu it doesnt bog at all at 4400. VTEC just fully engages instead of waiting til 5800? for the secondaries to kick in. Ive crossed over into vtec at partial throttle, half and WOT and it crosses over nicely no hesitation or bogging

so, I totalled it up and I can buy a GSR Long block for what it's going to cost me to rebuild this one. F-that!!! So all parts off the GSR Longblock are now for sale unless someone can point me in a direction for rebuild that is quality and cheaper than OEM parts.
