Default GSR block with a non v-tec head?

right now i have my ls motor in my DA, which is at 174,000 and my buddy is selling me a GSR block. once i get the block i plan on running type-r pistons. my other buddy says "jus run that block with your B18a head." i thought that sounded real weird and was wondering what kind of response i would get from the engine?

It would be a waste of time if you are going with the non vtec head. The b18c1 block has a small displacement. If you are going through the trouble of doing a gsr swap, do it right and you won't regret it.

gsr block with an LS head would be slooooooooow. get another vtec head to accomodate the gsr block and youre good to go. you should ditch the LS tranny too.
