Default Grinding and squeeking noise

My gsr has a squeeking or grinding noise coming from my back tires when turning or backing out even without stepping on my brakes. Im wondering if its just my brake pads, rotors or is it possible to be wheel bearings? any input would be great so i have an idea what to look for when i take it apart

Probably just needs rear pads. The noise is likely caused by the squealer tabs contacting the rotors. Pull the rear wheels off and check it out. Hopefully the backing plates haven't gotten into the rotors.

Could be a dust shield rubbing, or a rock stuck between the dust shield and the rotor.

yeah i would check the pads. same thing was happening to me about a month ago. i heard a light squealing noise that sounded like pads going out. i did a quick visual inspection since i can see my outer rear pads through my wheels, but the pads looked fine. i finally took the time to take the wheels off and turned out the rear *INNER* pad on my passenger side was almost gone! basically my rear passenger pads are being worn down abnormally which is why the outer pad looked fine.

If this is the case, you'll want to clean and lube your slide pins to allow the calipers to move freely. Also note how easily the piston turns back into the caliper. If it is very difficult to move, you should turn in the caliper as a core for a remanufactured unit.

yeah i think it is the piston that is causing it. it was pretty hard to twist back in.. thanks for the info!!
