its your synchros. i had the same problem with my crx. you can avoid the grinding, just wait until your rpm drop and shift.

eh...double clutching will also remedy the situation.

Anyone have a link to that site that carried carbon coated synchros? Or is that not a good idea? I would go with cryogenically treated synchros...but I fear they'd become brittle?

I double clutch into 3rd at high revs.....no grinding. If I don't...it grinds.

I'll be replacing my synchros soon.

the GM synchromesh is actually Pennzoil Syncromesh which you can get at autozone or pepboys. and it is cheaper.

my gs-r has 94,xxx on it now and i hardly grinds when going into 3rd, and i run just Honda MTF. i found my problem was a leaking clutch master cylinder, which is a big problem in alot of integras.

luv: i know a couple people who run nothing but synchromesh in all of their cars, it has never caused any problems.

and to fill it, just get a funnel and put a clean piece of large diameter vacuum hose on the end of it. make sure it is long enough to reach the fill bolt from the top of the car, and their you go.
