that link was helpful,
but i already know all about a turbo

the question i was trying to ask was is would you guys recommend boosting a car that was basically stock, or should i build the motor a little bit more then do it?

you can boost between 8-10 pounds safe depending on what motor you have but i would suggest getting a tune. and you have to upgrade injectors or you can risk your pistons warping.

get the block sleeved, then you can boost up to 30lbs

if you put turbo on a stock internal motor it wont last you very long, you might as well spray some noz in that sh*t and pray for the best

lots of bull **** in here, lol. boost is VERY reliable if the car is tuned. there are people on here that boost ls, gsr's 12 psi, every day and they last for years, all stock. engines don't just "break" because they are boosted. it has to do with the tune. timing off, fuel issue ect... the link i sent to you wasn't just about turbo's. it was about what to expect, how to go about picking a turbo, why a tune is important, and what you would need for a reliable car.

ehh, nitrous is ok. but, you can't use it on the streets on a daily basis. i mean, you can, but its gonna get expensive. and its illegal to use on the streets. not a big nos fan, unless its in a muscle car or something.

I had nitrous on my first car, a corolla. It was a nice little kick in the pants, but later when I went turbo on it, it was so much better. Just 7 psi on my corolla was amazing. I will never use nitrous again on my D.D. Later, when I got my GSR, I put a turbo on it and just from 5 psi, it was so much better and more fun to drive. My motor was completely stock with 170K and ran perfect.

I would suggest doing a compression test before installing a turbo and have a source of engine management decided. I used uberdata. How much power are you looking to put out?

I wouldn't boost a stock b20 block. The sleeves are paper thin, imo. But there's plenty of people who had done it.

Not trying to be rude but don't say you know "all about" it.
If you did then you would not be asking the question, so of the old(knowledgeable guys) will ignore you for comments like that.

Either or will work, depending on your goals, which are?

B20 sleeves are really thin and with the added pressure coming in, it wouldnt be recommended that you turbo the car without taking care of that first.

I would first and foremost, sleeve the block/forged pistons/forged rods.

However, that, in turn, might be a bit too much to do depending on your power goals...which by the way, are what exactly???

Im a fan of the "do it right the first time" club, so none of my build advice will steer you in the cheap direction.

STOP! using lbs as a way to justify boosting a car please. 12lbs on a GT28R is alot different then 12lbs on a GT40.
