gas tank touble..HELP PLEASE!
Okay recently i purchased a 94 ls teg and the gas tank was taken out of it and all the wires were cut. There are 2 wires that go to the fuel pump and 3 wires that go to a different location and are for the fuel sending unit, the ground, and the low gas light. now i hooked up all the wires crimped them and put them back in the clips. The low fuel light works, the gas gauge works, the fuel pump works and all the hoses are hooked up except for the overflow line which i was told wont effect how the car runs. IS that correct? if so then if anybody has any ideas why the car wont start please let me know, im stumped. oh and one last thing the car does have gas in it
ANY input would be greatly appreciated and most of all maybe a wiring diagram of the tank wires would be awesome...Thanks

loll hes not a new member.. hes been here for almost a year and a half...
Does it have new gas in it?
How long has it sat?
Did you try priming the fuel pump and everything?
Did you give it a little gas as you were trying to start it up?

thanks for the bump b18cyaaa
as for the questions it has new gas, only sat for a few weeks, did not prime the fuel pump (dont know what that is), and yes i did pump the petal while trying to start it
im stumped
the engine is fine tho because i can get it to run on starting fluid so its something with the gas tank

Try this! Take your Fuel rail off, then hold it into a bucket or something to catch the gas, Then have someone turn the key to the ON possition! if the gas sprays out then your getting gas. if it doesnt then try to change you fuel filter

there is gas goin to the engine bay bacause there is a part of the fuel system by the firewall (cant recall the name of it off the top of my head) but theres a nut on the top of it and if you loosen it and gas comes out then your getting gas...i loosened it and gas came oust so gas is getting there...i am completely stumped because i know the engine and starter all work good because it fired right up and ran on starting fluid

I'm pretty sure you mean the pressure bleeder screw on the top fuel filter fitting. Even if you have fuel there, it does not necessarily mean the engine is getting fuel. Make sure your injectors are firing. You can crank it over and listen for the injector to click with a stethoscope or screwdriver, or crank it over and pull a plug out to see if it has gas on it.
If you have fuel to the injectors and engine, it would be worth your while to check the fuel pressure. If the injectors are firing and you have adequate fuel pressure, start exploring possibilities outside of the fuel system.
Hope that helps.
